To be clear, this is not a thread on Jobe Watson

I just asked the open source chatbot, that has seemingly very suddenly rocked academia and popular culture,

To

'Write a theme song for the new Tasmanian Devils australian football league side'

And it was Dreadful.

It kind of got the format, and its better than the West Coast and Gold Coast songs,

But it was woeful.

Didnt rhyme and had no concept of culture, history or nuance.

I tested it on some other stuff - write a review of 'a day in the life of ivan denovich' and 'contrast the theory of evolution with genesis in a hip hop song'

And i estimate it can generate a 'B' grade assessment maybe in year 9 or 10,

But if it can pass university courses,

Then universities are in peril

I do reckon this robot has great potential to generate sporting press conferences and public apologies?

Have a crack and let us know what you reckon.

Technology is still in it's relative infancy. It will just get better and better at some lightning speeds. It's both exciting and scary at the same time.

I agree, but i suspect humans have an irreplaceable mortage on cultural nuance.

Having said that,

I think a robot could probably generate more insight than jobe watson

Really? I'd back ChatGPT to have more cultural nuance than the Liberal Party

Yes indeed

I was just having a conversation with @tigersnake ,

Who pointed out that Nick Cave called the chatGPT song in nick cave style was

'A grotesque mockery of what it is to be human'

And like you point out,

I responded that

Alot of humans

are grotesque mockeries of what it is to be human.

And becoming more so, it seems

I wish theyde get a *smile* robot in the ARC and MRP

I ran three currently playing Richmond legends through an ai pokemon generator.

The only prompt was: 'name' Richmond Tigers

Ten points if you can guess who is who.

ChatGPT is pretty good as a overview summary of some related or unrelated concepts .no thing in depth .which is needed for any thing passed year 11

I am a robot.

My young kids think robots jerk arms and make chch chch sounds, because we grown ups are showcasing 1960s stereotype robots.
Pretty soon the reality will be fantastical movement without industrial noise.
Both amazing and scary

Let's do a closest the pin. In which year do we think robots will play afl or have their own league?

It is scary. It's reasonable to believe that the career my 10 year old daughter embarks on doesn't even exist today. The whole work force will change significantly over the next generation. Or maybe it'll end up like how in the 60s everyone thought we'd have flying cars by mid 80s.

It apparently passed an MBA exam.

chat.openai.com still has plenty of errors.

Q. Is Dustin martin the best AFL player ever?

Chat.OpenAI: It is subjective to determine the best AFL player ever, as it depends on personal opinions and criteria such as individual skills, statistics, and team success. However, Dustin Martin is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the AFL and has achieved many individual accolades including three Brownlow medals and a Norm Smith medal.

Sounds like it gets its AFL info from foxfooty.com.au
