I just noticed that the top three threads at the moment are "Essendon = Entitlement", "#lolNorf", and "The I *heart* Collingwood thread".
And it struck me that given the events of the last fours years, where is our thread dedicated to Geelong?

I am also quite surprised not to have read too many posts about the fact that they have just offloaded three first rounders for someone who will be 28 next April.
I for one am staggered at that, regardless of whatever steak knives were involved.

If I've missed it on other threads, I apologize.

I made comment on another thread about the folly of Geelong giving away 3 first rounders and paying $900k or whatever it is. Lee has stated previously that on average 28 yr olds play 40 games with their second club (20 if its their third club so look out WB!)

Apart from Plugger I can’t recall too many KPF aged 28 who had successful careers at their second club.

Don't forget the 2nd they gave for a player that will be 33 at the start of nest season.

With this style of recruiting the Cats will at best continue to be the 'nearly club' instead of investing in youth and becoming a clone of us

Sent my Bro a text last night suggesting his mob had sold their future in giving up their three first rounders n $900 large for Cameron, plus the other two old farts. Told him all those pensioners would be lining up at their local cafe with their seniors cards out just so they could save a dollar on their weekly coffee n cake morning.

His response was simply if they can't win the flag with Cameron, Higgins n Smiff added to the list then it would simply prove that Scott cant coach. Happy to let him know we'd be waiting for his mob of ego driven, self centered individuals once again.
He's not bloody talking to me again.

I would try and fix your typo in the title thread, for accuracy’s sake, but I don’t like the chances of getting through the swear filter

Big if

IF
they can keep all those ole mercenaries on the park through finals they will be hard to beat. Well at least till 1/2 time.

Will the gain they get from Cameron outweigh how much each individual over thirty will lose? Loads standing on the edge of the cliff down at Two Acres Care Home.

Young players bring enthusiasm. They get that from the confidence gained from playing and winning games against the best. Old buggers hogging games and glory will stifle that. Dangers culture of get out of my way I need to win this game on my own won't encourage a team or system approach that helps the next generation of players to take ownership of standing up in crunch moments.

I'd love to see the wheels fall off down at Shady Shores Retirement Villages.

haha.

I can't really fathom the Geelong brother concept.

I dont have a single blood relative who doesn't barrack for Richmond.

Geelong will have a 4 elbow attack in forward 50 now,

and their wings will have 65 years between them.

they might improve, but we can rule a line through them

A correction Uk - they did invest in youth - they invested two of their own youth, Cockatoo and Fogarty into the trade and didn’t they get some lovely picks back for that investment.

Our biggest challenger next year is Port Adelaide
Over there maybe but not here....... not yet.

Who knows how this year will effect them they could get ahead of themselves like they have done every other time they've had a good season.

The Cats will be there again with all their soft kills at Corio, and I expect better things from the Eagles as they wont be chucking their toys out of the cot.

We've got challengers from Interstate (Port, Bears, Eagles) which is annoying as that increases the odds of Interstate away Finals which we obviously want to avoid.

Hopefully Vic clubs round out the rest of the finals spots which they should Cats, Saints, Dogs and either Blues or Deez, I cant see the Pies getting it done next year theyve lost 3 senior players.

I think they are the only real credentialed challenger on paper and on form.

but in November '19 no way did I have Geelong as a challenger.

I didnt have them as a challenger the morning of October 24, 20.

and I still dont

I think it is fair enough. David King said the club promised Dangerfield a flag.

What makes that over self entitled *smile* deserving of a flag.

Would the media be all over this wanker as much as they are if he came back to Victoria to play at the Tigers, Saints, Dogs, Kangas or Demons.

He is the exact reason Crows and Ports fans along with plenty of other neutrals I'm sure cheered for the RFC on Grand Final night.
