The problem that a lot of football scribes have with us is that they are obsessed with stats. They believe that the team with the most stats should always win. They are forever talking about contested possession, uncontested possession, inside 50s etc etc and using these as a way of explaining which team is winning the game.
How often do we hear things like West Coast is plus 10 in uncontested possession, no wonder they are winning easily or Geelong is plus 15 in contested possession, no wonder they are winning easily.
Richmond nearly always loses nearly every stat, why are they winning??????
Of course this happens because most other teams flick the ball around looking for a neat pass to a player on the next line. Often it takes four touches to advance 10 metres. The first goes 10 m to the left, the second is ten metres back, the third is 10 metres to the right and the fourth is a short pass 20 meters forward……….which Vlastuin marks.
It must do their heads in!!!!
