If Dion comes in for a qualifying final, and we can't cover his lack of match fitness enough to win anyway, then that just means we're a side that needs Dion Prestia.

It's worth losing a qualifying final to get match fitness into Dion Prestia. That's how good he is.

We need him for the elimination finals that matter.

FWIW I don't think his inclusion would ever cost us a win. A Prestia at 60% is an upgrade on a Jack Ross at one hundred. But if it did, and that loss happened in QF, then it's worth it.

We're a good enough team to not just time our run for finals. We can time our run for the finals that matter.

Agree - the qual final gives us a second chance - if we play the lions, it will be one hell of a fast game against a side of angry ants.

Absolutely no doubt the reigning B & F will come in as long as he gets through the scrimmage and pulls up ok

One inescapable truth is winners are geniuses and losers are underdone and never should have played.

Had we won the prelim in 2018 the story would have been about the courage of Astbury leading us to victory.

The reality is there are very few occasions when players play when they are not capable of doing so, but the scoreboard always decides opinions.

mmmm... Astbury is one example, Phil Davis is another who clearly should not have even tried to play in last years GF.

So, what you are saying is, if Hardwick picks an underdone Prestia and Fagan does the same with Harris Andrews, one will be a genius and one will be a dummy, depending on who wins.

Tough gig, coaching.

Davis was laughable playing in the GF totally selfish.

In the end it didnt cost them so he avoided derision for it.

Fagan will be the dummy when Andrews pings his hammy again ruling him out for the rest of the season.

We can win the Flag without Prestia.

They cant win it without Andrews .......................they likely cant win it with him either.

Biggest chance Bears have of winning the flag is if they dont play the Tigers in the Big Dance, and if we beat them in the Q/F then I doubt they get there.

Lachie Whitfield shouldn’t have played either. Think he only had 10 days or so to recover from appendix surgery.

I remember watching Davis warm up pre-match. I was supremely confident after that.
