Welcome to the Tigers Nathan Broad

Our Broady is a hard man on the field of play but one of the fairest at the same time. He cares about an injured opponent like the GWS guy a while ago and again this weekend when he could have buried Ablett a few times but instead used kid gloves on him. For the rest of the team to follow his lead was outstanding. He is part of our culture so irreplaceable right now
He's a fighter on the field.
But a lover off the field.
Just ask the luck ladies.

I hope so as the AFLPA should be pushing for the smallest reduction in list size possible.

In any case, their Pres was otherwise engaged standing around doing very little on Saturday Night.

Oh, and we need Broad to stay, he is structurally important, you could see when he returned to the team that our back line just clicked better.

DS

They were talking about this On The Couch, Lyon brought it up.

AFLPA want a 5% reduction (I think he was talking TPP) and AFL wants 20% to ensure no debt within 8 years.

Even at 20%, I assume that doesn't come fully off the list size, but 20% would reduce to 36. I would think 5% wouldn't change list sizes at all.

They need some sort of conclusion before trade period starts.

Lyon suggested to meet in the middle which seems fair, at $13m TPP per club, thats total TPP of $234m so a 10% saving is $23.4m. Having looked through the AFL's booked, they should be able to match this easily, will be interesting to see what they have trimmed this year as a % of revenue.

At 10%, maybe they give teams the choice of how many they want on their list, between 40 and 42 and allow clubs to make those decisions as to whether they fill the other 2 list spots or provide more of it to their current players. The clubs near the bottom would most likely have bigger list sizes then to have more potential on their lists.

Geez, poor old Broady didnt see much love from whoever did the Jack Dyer Medal.....16 votes from 16 games. I thought he was brilliant for most of the year.
One of my unheralded faves.....would be gutted if he left.

The myth will always be that he was concussed, am. (But it looked like a rib. Heh heh.)
My take was he got a knock to the back/ribs.
Was it a flying Danger leg/hip?
Those hits take the wind out of your sails and often crack the ribs. He did well to get back on deck

No love in the club votes?
Something isnt adding up.
Or he is doing his job and the coaches are happy.
Agree Barker hope he stays

Ive already email the club it would be a very stupid idea to let broad leave.
I would rather lose Astbury

Rohan I think jumped in with the knee.

They were in with knees and elbows all night when they weren't flopping and diving for frees.

Is that the lady from Premiership night 3 year's ago?

The silence on Boobsy's contract is deafening.
Don't know why they are not getting deal done.

Get ready for another Butts howler!
70 games.
3 Flags.
So dependable.

Don't stuff this up List Managers.
Don't you dare.
How was Geezer a howler ?

That why its called list MANAGEMENT, managing the TPP whilst trying too pay everyone their worth, as well as managing current & future list needs.

Blair Hartley et al have done a MAGNIFICENT job of that.

Geezer wasn't getting a game, was out of contract & the Aints came knocking.

Its impossible to keep everyone

Apparently, according to reports in The Age this evening, Broad will be signing a new contract with RFC in the near future.

I find it amazing that given what the club has acheived in the past four years, 3 flags including making 4-5 rookie and PSD players into multiple premiership players, recruiting Nank/Caddy/Prestia, people still want *smile* and moan about Dan Butler going to St Kilda for minimum chips. FFS
