Anyone on here thinking of having him referenced as the next Gus Bus (nee Camel) best be prepared to have right of ownership status fought out with Baloo.

Any revelation of a new Graham will have the Ol Boy Bear up and about for sure.

Maybe CCJ is being groomed as a forward and Samson is the new ruck? Otherwise a bit of a mystery why we chose him.

Is there a trend of teams getting taller to counter the running game? Maybe, but we seem to be doing both tall and fast with a combination of players. This should be interesting.

DS
CCJ a has all the tools to be a forward except for his kicking for goal which is very average

He’s got the confused look of the true ruck doofus. Not necessarily a bad thing. Many of these doofi are falloverologists, large men who make an art form of spilling their hulking frames all over unlucky opponents. Nobody likes Mumford, but we have to admit he knows how to manufacture an ‘accident’ that ends with an oppo rib cage being relieved of its air. Nearly killed Dion once. Our own Nank has skill in this space. But he’s more of a uniform squasher. Like he’s trying to deflate a lilo really quickly. Then there’s big Staff - the true king of falloverology IMO. He brought pointiness. And random aggro. I hope big Samson knows how to fall on blokes.
Welcome Samson.

haha “doofi”. I tip my hat to you sir.

Brodie Grundy clone. Looks a good mark, good kick and competitive on the ground. Beast
Not sure how many people who have watched the clip on the RFC site has noticed this but All but 2 marks he takes he falls to the ground
How does he always fall to the ground being so much taller than every body ?

Mate of mine is a former QAFL umpire and now umpire coach. I asked him about Samson as he would have seen him.

He said he noticed him at Sherwood because of his size. But laughed and said he never saw him as anything other than a suburban ruckman. Reckons AFL umpires will run him into the ground with greater endurance and smarts.

Time will tell but expectations need to be tempered

Poor bugger, has to compete against umpires as well as the opposing ruck

Mmm that was the first tigers game I ever attended. Was that you sitting next to me with a radio earpiece in, answering annoying questions?
Actually i was at the end of the row with a copper mate sittingon my right.

I remember that because for some peculiar reason every second person passing me tripped on the step next to my seat.

Last round v Nth Melb 2015 that same cop was on duty at the ground and i had a chat to him pre game over the fence. At half time he called me down (i was only about 4 rows back.) and we had another chat. Mid conversaion i looked up to see the umpires half way to the centre, walking in formation. I said to him "Hey Rod, aren't you supposed to be walking the umpires out"?

Rod looked over his shoulder and took off, hand on hat! He reached them at about the same time they reached the centre. I opened up the opportunity, but no disgruntled Tiger fan managed to take advantage!
Dammit!
