Hope the Dogs can win after being shunted all over the country. The AFL had them merged with an extinct club at the same time we were battling to survive. Haven't received any undue favours, Beveridge is a good coach and I'd be content for them to win a third flag with a team that isn't the best in it.

Melbourne supporters have been waiting an awful long time but it can't be ignored that the AFL appointed them a coach and a CEO to get them back on the rails. As such, Melbourne is the embodiment of AFL meddling and much the less-preferred outcome for me. Their players have had a dislike of ours over several seasons and being nitpicky, I don't want them to be rewarded after reasoning in the pre-season that Richmond's players were no better than theirs.

That said, a Melbourne flag poses few issues unless Lyon & co. start making flog comments after the fact.

We weren't pure spectators in 2018.we were filthy, miserable, angry and depressed. It was only when the Pies lost in the last minute of the Grand Final that the fog started to lift.
Finals month or Grand Final week?? We spectated all Grand final week in 2018.

No, we weren't pure spectators at all Grand Final week. We were wallowing in our sorrow and all we could think of that week is how we let ourselves get *smile* over by a big Cox. I doubt many of us cared much about the Grand Final until the eve, and then it was about Pies losing.

Once we got knocked out in the Prelim we were reduced to nothing more than spectators pure n simple. If some of us chose to hide under the bed during Granny week, that's a personal decision and it's irrelevant.

OK. If you insist.

Guess I'm lucky you hate being pedantic.

Sunday night, footy's finished for a couple of weeks n I wasn't doing much n beside that, it's your fault anyway. You kept arguing back at me :))

I think its because they were in Brisbane.

this is so complicated and im so confused. which, if any, of these statements are correct?

1. if the Port V Dogs PF was played in WA, the GF could be on Optus this Saturday?

2. The dogs have done 1 week in WA prior to the prelim, so they have to do another week?

3. Melbourne players are 100% free? they can have a meal in Fremantle? take a drive down to Margaret River?, however

4. Clubs would have players pretty bubbled to minimise losing Max Gawn in the GF to an exposure site?

5. If there was a Covid case in WA, Macgowna would let Gil know before anyone, and Gil would be on the phone to Paluscheck and Marshall for a relocation?

and a question

1. What with the precautionary principle and what we saw bubble wise in 2020, why was Bevo and Bulldogs players hugging fans in the crowd? I attended many games in Qld in 2020, and players or officials didn't come within about 40m of us at anytime outside play? If there was a case at AO, as there was at The G, and without any bubble behaviour, wouldn't all dogs be close contacts? does that explain the 14 day break to the GF? couldn't they avoid that with the well-practised bubble?

After all the travelling and hotels, I don't kind that both teams have a couple of weeks to get ready.

Melbourne barely as my grandparents were fans and have a couple of mates (one who is ex Fitzroy - imagine that for a bleak life for a mid 40 yo!) who I’d be happy to see win.

This is balanced by liking us having more flags and the Ds being a genuine threat to win a few over the next five years and Gary Lyons historical hubris fawning over Melbourne’s future and ridiculing gales plan. Bulldogs also chuck it a bit too much.

Both teams have likeable superstars in Gawn, Petracca, Oliver, the bont, Naughton and Williams…. And maybe only flog behaviour I can recall has been Pickett early in this season against us. Even Libba seems to have toned it in. Wouldn’t begrudge any of them.

Ds walk definitely matched their talk - https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl...-have-to-park-their-egos-20210307-p578kk.html

I noted on one of treloars goals (when they were maybe seven or eight up) he had a 25m chip over the top to a player 15m in the clear to run into open goal. No way a tiger player wouldn’t have passed that and I’m pretty sure the demons would do the same. He kicked the goal but it is those little percentages that add up to maybe the difference.

I think something very special is gonna occur in Perth in 2 weeks. Just has everything lined up to be an absolute all timer.
