Talia has been out of the game for a bit, would probably not cost much but might not even play? Unless I am missing something...
Long time lurker, first time poster :)
If we take Talia as a FA, does that mean that we will not get compensated for losing Chol? I think that is how it works. In effect, Talia may cost us the Chol compensation pick

Suggestion on twitter we are talking to dogs about giving them points for Darcy with our 2nd and 3rd round picks for their first. Effectively giving the dogs more points with picks we may not use to get another higher/first rounder.

Dogs are in a good position. Will finish 1st or 2nd and have the no.1 and no.2 picks from the two most recent drafts to slot in.

If we only did this in trade week then its a week well served. We effectively would have 3 first round picks.

@mrposhman has been all over the possible trade with the Dogs.
Ideally it's something like picks 40, 44, 45ish (Chol compo) for their Pick 17.

Another picks trade is to get involved with Dawson from the swans. Has requested a move to SA, not confirmed crows or power at this stage.
Power could trade 16, but nothing else.
Crows have 4, 23 and 37.

Now 4 is too high for Dawson, but 23 too low. The swans wouldn't be keen on 23 +37 even though the points match pick 12.

So what if we trade picks with the crows 4?
It allows the crows to split it and trade a later pick to swans (15) and keep a pick for themselves

All this talk of 3 first rounders is great and all, but there’s the Richmond factor to take into account.

Doubt Footscray will turbo charge a dynasty team, a direct competitor for silverware in 2022.

I see it as a numbers game here.

This year we have the chance to set a base for the club for the next 10 years. If we can get 4/5 picks in top 20 then take those 5 picks to the draft then we get 5 young players to go with Balta Bolton Baker and the other 23 and under guys. Need then to use trades and free agency to fill the gaps over the next few years. Not going to get every pick right so the numbers game comes into play. However if we hit the picks, like Port did, then we have set ourselves up for a longer term at the top.

The view of the draft is a top 4 then pretty even through to 30s. The Crows pick 4 would become pick 6 and is not a stand out this year on picks in the teens, according to experts.

Conversely they would not want to go into deficit next year either

Looking at the Bulldogs points situation they only have around 1000 points. If F/S Darcy is bid at no 1 they would need 2400 points. If they went into deficit they could lose basically both 1st and 2nd round picks next year depending where they finish on the ladder.

They may need to keep their 1st round this year and try and find the points by trading next years 1st round.

I,d trade to get 4. Gives us the pick of vic midfielders and maybe a chance that Gibcus could be available at 4

No it doesn’t affect the compo.
Different time lines between FA and UFA moves/compo and the ability to select a delisted player/ delisted free agent
