Well under which is great at 1,466. Single dose 85.80% and double dose at 59.30%. I think the worst hit LGA’s will come down now. As mentioned numerous times the Yarra City region will be the biggest concern with their very low vaccination rates.

Hopefully the lower case numbers from both states is a genuine sign that vax numbers are having a real impact.

Very encouraging for Hume. The targeted vaccination strategy seems to be working.
Numbers in VIC have gone from 1923 to 1466 in 3 days. Reff Number has dropped to 1.10. Lowest its been in a long time. its too early to say we've peaked, but we are starting to see some signs. and to be honest, we needed to. We can't open up in 2 weeks with 2,000-3,000 cases per day.
They need to change the way vax numbers are reported and include the population 12 and over and the whole population.
The Guardian does the whole population and their figures are:
50.59% of the total population fully vaccinated
63.04% of the 16+ population fully vaccinated
Ranked 31 of 38 OECD countries
Good movement in the numbers.
One thing I have been wondering about, Victoria is now getting more second jabs in arms than NSW, I tend to look back a week at how much our percentage (of over 16s) has risen and Victoria is going faster than NSW. I wonder if it has taken longer in Victoria as we have by far the highest proportion of people vaccinated with Astra-Zeneca which has a longer wait for the second jab. If this is the case then we should see a quick rise in the second jab percentages in Victoria because we should be somewhere near the second jabs being due for those who got AZ and the more recent Pfizer recipients.
Let's hope the infection numbers keep going down in Victoria.

These mostly follow the same pattern, overweight older white Trump supporting goatee wearing Biden hating anti-vax disinformation spreading knuckleheads. Then they get Covid and it's "Calling all prayer warriors". No thanks to the hospital staff who are keeping them alive. Lots of facebook commentary saying "don't let them intubate you and demand they give you Ivermectin (hi @lamb22 ), huge doses of vitamin C and zinc". Often they rally for a day or two and then BOOM "Heaven has a new Angel today. He was the kindest sweetest man".
Yep. There was one in there with someone who recovered and apologised for spreading misinformation. We need more of that.

It seems inevitable invermectin will turn out to be a dud - I wonder how many global resources have been wasted debunking misinformation that could have been better utilised and how much harm and death the misinformation has lead to. (Pending results of these latest properly.
Yeah, there are quite a few "redemption awards" for people who admitted they were wrong. Some of them still die. Often you see children/family commenting "we tried to get them vaccinated but they refused".
Some family members take the opposite line when they die - "now is not the time to talk about vaccination" - when is the time then numbnuts? Or they see intubation and hospital treatment as part of the Democrat conspiracy to kill Trump supporters.
This is why education is only part of the solution. So many bad actors out there getting kicks out of spreading misinformation - @lamb22 's cadre of youtubers being a prime example. Click bait and viewer stats. And as my girl said before, YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID.

So I was telling my kids why I love telling jokes about anti Vaxxers. Does anyone here know why?
I was reading a tweet thread by an epidemiologist a couple of days back, and they thought early to mid Dec would be the time that showed if it was okay or all going to *smile*.
They thought it would end up in a bad state after people go all nutty with the opening of everything. They were also very worried about those people at higher risk - disabled and first nations - due to the increased movement of people around the state.
Was pretty sobering reading...
