Jack will retire next year, or at least probably should, Lynch is 30 next year, and I have question marks on how long his body is going to last.Pick 28. Key defender.
Next year we can look at a tall forward, think there will be a better pool of players to choose from.
Shocking making a mess of things already at the Scats. He and Salty, a match made in heaven.Heh heh heh… Sam Edmundane reckons Clark and his manager had a very heated discussion with Wells and co at Geelong yesterday and that Clark told them he wasn’t coming back and hung up on them. Hah hah hah.
think attitude ................maybe just maybe he thinks he is already MADE it .............based on what happen 2 1/2 years ago ............work to be done in that space .........
my concerns are is his size rehab focus and working through the hard times esp in games? how competitive is he? both on and off the field .........work to be done with him .........but clubs would know that
not if they think they are worth 200K$150 grand a year can do wonders to a kid's work ethic
Yes, we need a key forward but not a speculative type, Williams doesn't do it for me, think he's not quite the package of previous top ten picks. Next year we can go hard at a key forward but no point trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.Jack will retire next year, or at least probably should, Lynch is 30 next year, and I have question marks on how long his body is going to last.
Grimes will be 31, Tarrant 33. Miller and Biggy have big question marks on them, probably more so than RCD, Ross, Dow and Martyn.
You don't think we need a key forward and defender in this draft?
There is no doubt we do need to bring in some key position players but unfortunately this probably isn't the draft to do that. The experts seem to thing there will be a lot more viable options next year and if we lose players on decent coin it may even open up a free agent option.Jack will retire next year, or at least probably should, Lynch is 30 next year, and I have question marks on how long his body is going to last.

Yes we will know soon enough by our draft selections what Sam Cousens thinks of the likes of Amiss, Van Rooyen, Williams, Benning etc.Yes, we need a key forward but not a speculative type, Williams doesn't do it for me, think he's not quite the package of previous top ten picks. Van Rooyen is actually the best type of player you can pick at 26, I picture him in a Heath Grundy role but there is some scope for him to become an Oscar Allen type threat in the forward line. Bazzo made him look amateurish so there's that to consider but his floor is high & he has some real competitiveness about him. In order to nail this draft I think assessing players floors is just as important as projecting their ceilings. For example, I like Goater more than Sonsie because his floor is good, pick 15 roughly the range you start picking off rebounding defenders so the upside can be seen as a bonus and not a make or break situation. Sonsie projects as a more boom/bust type, I think with these picks we must ensure we're adding core players, no room for stuff ups. In saying that, I like Sonsie & I like his dual sidedness and acceleration from the contest. The upside is really good for pick 15, probably too much downside for pick 7. If Goater is off the board then Sonsie would be the player I take.Yes we will know soon enough by our draft selections what Sam Cousens thinks of the likes of Amiss, Van Rooyen, Williams, Benning etc.
Matt Rowell was heads and shoulders above, Carlton wouldve taken him at pick 1 the previous year had he been eligible. Won just about every accolade possible.I cant ever recall a junior being so much better than every other junior in the country as Horne*
O'Meara was probably the last one billed as such? which I guess supports Bullys case.
*I haven't even seen highlights of Daicos, nothing.
Watch Freo give up 19.Heh heh heh… Sam Edmundane reckons Clark and his manager had a very heated discussion with Wells and co at Geelong yesterday and that Clark told them he wasn’t coming back and hung up on them. Hah hah hah.
Callaghan?I wonder if Gold Coast would swap 3 for 7 and our North pick for next year? It would give us our pick of Hobbs or Ward.

Reckon there's a couple of factors.I cant ever recall a junior being so much better than every other junior in the country as Horne*

I wouldn't be surprised if there was more coming back our way.Wowsers, 7, 15, 26 & next year's early twenties pick. They must rate Horne-Francis or not rate this batch. Or they are simply clutching onto a known entity for fear of having egg on the face with so little football being played. I personally think that's an insane price to pay, in a midfielders draft no less. You can rebuild an entire engine room with those picks.
Yeah, he was my reference point as well. I think the hype around JHF is fair. I would take him ahead of Daicos.Matt Rowell was heads and shoulders above, Carlton wouldve taken him at pick 1 the previous year had he been eligible. Won just about every accolade possible.
