Welcome to Tiger land Riley Collier’Dawkins

Watching the twos at the moment. Tiges have a top up player called Fraser Elliot. Looks a bit slow, not much muscle definition, solid build, doesn't look like a runner, don't know if he has a tank. However in one half of football he has showed more footy nous than Collier Dawkins and Dow have in three years.

Natural footballer who is eons a better midfielder than the above mentioned. Just not AFL material I guess!
Fraser will now be Bummers bound

Such a limited player, watching him closely - as many of you probably are - in the VFl. Just not good enough, wrong decisions constantly.
That last 15 metre kick in the middle of the ground was another shocker.
Have to confess, I was over him 2 years ago and I'm still totally over him.
Just reminds me of the poor mids we had years ago in our dark years. Hard to watch.

Same with Dow. Not sure how many handpasses he has had, but almost every single one has missed the mark.

Yeah have to agree. Really looks like a bust Jack Watts style.

Jack Watts was the first pick of the draft. Riley was taken at pick 20, after some were saying he was a top 10-12 pick. He fell because of limitations not because he was a superstar in the making with no weaknesses.
He's probably gonna be delisted, but from a very shallow draft he was probably around the best available. Not many drafted after him have torn the league apart, nor many look like being a 150 gamer.
Let's be careful of our judgements and expectations.

Geez General, he is a 191cm player picked at Pick 20. Pick 20 is a bloody good pick.
I'm sure not gonna be careful of my judgements or expectations - he is basically hopeless.

191cm
Pick 20
Underager when picked

He is now 22 and cannot break into our side as poor as we have been going. If you cant nail pick 20, and if its a shallow draft, trade it away.

Fraser Elliot

5/7/2002, 188cm, 89kg, inside mid

Elliot, an Oakleigh Chargers graduate will shore up the VFL Tigers’ midfield stocks in 2022, having committed to the program full time.

Only 20, might be OK in a fulltime AFL environment.
Don't worry will be on Essendons list by march

We can't develop.
So if they're a development type.
We shouldn't even consider them.
I'm with you pick 20 can get you quality from another team

Pick 20 isn't a great pick at all. Statically speaking, you can expect an average 78 games out of a pick 20 (source https://www.draftguru.com.au/picks).
I think we did try trade it away. If I remember correctly (and maybe I dont) we asked for extra time. But no one wanted it, as they now there was little quality left. You remember of course Carlton trading to get in front of us so we couldn't take Stocker, or so the rumour goes.
Yeah, he's not done a lot. I agree with Zips our development has gone pretty ordinary in the last couple of years - but yet to see if others are doing better with similar picks.
My biggest criticism about Riley is he doesn't appear to be aggressive enough on field. For an inside bull, I want him to break skulls to get it first. He doesn't seem to have the confidence/killer instinct to do it.
33 disposals today, 6 tackles and 6 clearances. Were they 33 cheapies or did he work for em?

Alex Rance was pick 18 wasn't he?
Shai bolton was pick 29 wasnt he?
Mitch duncan was pick 28,
Josh Dunkley was pick 25
Luke Parker was pick 40.

Pick 20 is a bloody good pick. Except, clearly, for Riley's year.

I've been going on about our lack of development for 2 years now. Its beyond ordinary. Development or otherwise, RCD is a bust.

Watched the whole game today and whilst he worked for some of his disposals (I never said any of them were cheapies, so not sure where that comment has come from), most of them contributed nothing to the outcome IMO.

Mitch Lewis was drafted at pick 76, does that make 76 a good pick as well?

The averages tell the story and 78 games is pretty average indeed. No one is saying that you cannot get a good player at a pick in the 20's, but you seem to be implying that we should have gotten a good pick. Yet a glance through the picks taken after him doesn't show many household AFL names.

No, it makes the Hawks recruiter a genius. Which actually confirms the point. Pick 20 is a bloody good pick, and if you choose well, you can beat the 78 game %.

But yes, that year, Riley's year is proving a bust.

It doesn't confirm anything. Lewis turning into a good player was luck, not genius.

They picked Harry Morrison before Lewis with pick 74. How's he going?

Pick 20 is only a good pick if there are genuine prospects on the board.

going round in circles BT.
If you dont think pick 20 is a good pick, well so be it.

To me, its a pretty damn good pick. lots of good players taken around the mark.
maybe not that year, sure not looking that way. should have traded it if the pool was ordinary that year.

either way, rcd is not gonna be close to the player many kept suggesting with patience.

We got Broad at pick 67. Maybe that’s the number to have.
