Watched it all. Williamstown are hopeless & Richmond VFL just bulldozed their way to a win, albeit with skill errors galore.

Stack & Rioli junior stood out to me, especially Sydney in the second half. Too skillful not to be playing AFL.

Ryan is still a way off for mine, despite getting a couple of goals. Still fumbles & makes too many mistakes, especially dropped marks. Also doesn’t look fit enough for AFL - huge pre-season needed if he wants to make it.

Special mentions to, Mansell, Brown, Will Martyn and Castagna

Richmondy in the 2nds. Just. kick. the. goal.

Samson doing a Soldo in last Q. Funny stuff.
It would be hilarious ... if RFC players rarely ever did this kind of thing. Unfortunately, all too common. What was Judson thinking, just bang it through, son! When will we learn?
Bad traits that mean lost goals ... and matches.

Sadly, Castagna looks no level above in this game.
True to his career form, snapped a good goal to pierce the Gladwrap protecting the PRO goals in Q2. Later (Q4?) has an easy set shot from about same distance, little angle. Miss.
His kicking is entirely flukey. After all the games, 3 flags, a ton of experience, all the training and coaching sessions ... still has little idea of where it's going.
Just random.

Wowee Aarts what a goal
Yes, it was. But marked with a minute or so left. Never showed any interest in playing on. Went back very calmly and deliberately to kick a superb goal from the BL about 35/40 out.
If only had the same smarts and composure a week ago. So do we have one player who has LEARNT? Pity that stuff up at top level might be his last chance at top level.

I am not getting over that loss to Norf. And today the Dawks buried them by nearly 8 goals!!!!

Even in 2019 when he played his best I didn't feel he handled wet conditions well. And today he's coming back after a few weeks out injured. But for effort and involvement he's up to the level. It's nothing to do with discipline or fitness, mores touch and conditions.
But did he even ensure he had the appropriate boots for the weather and surface today? Slipped over at crucial moments several times.

Discipline - not sure about that. Coverage was too poor to see what he was getting up to and no replays ... but a few Willy players going hard for him!
Be interesting to see if any reports ensue.

Makes you wonder bob. This is the fancy football we've seeing over the years which somehow decays our style in times like now.
It's just stupid smartarse football. Coaching and game rule must be player in best position kicks the goal without risking turnover by another excessive disposal unless it's a near certainty. Shai made the same mistake in the WCE game, trying to pass off to JR after telegraphing it. Same game, DRioli showed how it's done.

Dimma has allowed this wayward approach to become constant - goals are not treated as vital and precious - hard-earned through the work of players up the ground, the backs and mids. The wastefulness puts pressure back on the whole team by keeping the opposition in it.

It's arrogance and at this point, hubris.

Our bright future on display. Samson and Biggie could be our senior ruck combo in a couple of years, I reckon. Biggie has a leap almost as big as Gibbo's. He's clocked intercept marking at the level, so it's good for his game to get involved at the coalface and he's doing well. Both viable, mobile forward targets too.

Mansell and Young dominating in defence. MoJu terrorising the Willy defence. Stack busy but not quite clicking. Dow, RCD, Martyn getting plenty of it. Gibbo growing in confidence with a couple of nice intercepts and a huge launch for almost-mark of the year. Some good moments from all of Bauer, Brown, Clarke and Banks.

I'd like to see some testing on Fraser Elliott. Suspect these are his ideal conditions - is a truck and a ball magnet in the wet, 17 disposals and 5 clearances in a half. Could be worth a rookie spot if he tests okay. Tylar Young definitely is.
You do rate Young only problem is we have a few key backs , but always good to have one as a rookie is he mobile or more a stopper type.

Was at my sons school footy today. It never stopped raining all day. Never heavy but constant. Really tough conditions for any level of footy
