Would love to see a handball receive stat. I suspect (no science only from my eyes) that a fair few of Saads possessions come from kick ins. Daniel seems to receive his more from handball chains which get him out into the open a lot more, and cause those runs through the middle of the ground that we have seen so frequently this year.
With no Ralph it appears the club didn’t get held to ransom and the deal went swimmingly.

At times, people on here debate whether Rioli offers greater value as a forward or a back.
The truth is, there are several times during each game where he's actually a forward; it's just that his starting position is in defence. This is huge.
The same could be said of Baker - in the twinkling of an eye, when the chance presents itself, the back becomes a forward.
Over the journey, we've seen a few of our defenders either drift forward or charge forward (as part of a handball chain) to confuse and disrupt oppo defence structures. Don't be surprised if this approach is developed more and more as time goes on, with the likes of Balta, Gibcus and Miller being part of a forward thrust several times each game. The trick is for this to be like a set play, where specific players cover for them in defence while they go forward eg Riewoldt goes back while Balta charges forward. Such flexibility can really take you to the next level.
