This stuff never happened at the Tiges. 2 gun players coming into their prime would never nominate Richmond as their destination. Last years draft haul and these 2 pick ups has been an amazing year and a bit.
Yes we missed out on draft picks but in reality we just had 2 top 10 picks this year and used them on Hopper and Taranto. Difference is we don't need yo wait for 4-5 years to see them dominate.
Martin is sitting back having a sip of champagne and giggling at how easy it will be for him next year when hes getting the 4th best mid and 3rd best defender

Wonder if we try and package these for one of Brisbanes’s picks in the 30s. They get more points value and we get an earlier pick. Would effectively make it hopper for a F1.

I think one of the key messages from this is don’t believe what you read in the media or listen too much to what other clubs say. Our club doesn’t play out deals in public.
There are 20 pages or more in the Hopper thread about a deal that didn’t happen. Clearly we were never agreeing to F1, 30 and Soldo.
Our club is better than that these days
The other key message is that AFL footballers want to play for Richmond. We are a destination club because we are so well run, we have a massive passionate supporter base, a great culture and we play at the home of footy.
I reckon there is a key forward out there somewhere who we are working on already.

The club recruiters certainly have done good business by targeting two readymade experienced players that would clear up lasts years weakness at clearances so the future looks bright. We got in some good kids at last years draft so we can now give them time to develop instead of dropping them in at the deep end and suffering for it
