Welcome Noah Cumberland

Noah was injured last week but has not set the world on fire anyways. Been working on ground game and contributing. Coaches like that.

I'd bring him in for next week. Ambush.

I sort of wonder if it’s worth having play as a short FF? Nothing to lose.

Prediction:
Will play 3-4 blinder games at the end of season
We’ll sign him for 3 years and he’ll stink it up again

Think we need to give him an opportunity soon regardless of his form. Need to see whether he is up to it. We lack firepower in the forward line. Can’t die wondering. Has the X factor if he can bring his best.

We give Lefau, Maurice and other a crack without showing much in the VFL.

Played an excellent game 2 weeks ago and last week was clouded by possible injury though as with the boy crying wolf he is not granted the luxury of forgiveness for what was possibly a debilitating corky

So Cumbo is a bit of a weird cat?

Shouldn't the club be putting their arms around the bloke and doing everything to help him be the player he could be?

What I'm getting at is that everyone is different, and the cookie cutter approach has long been thrown out. So why not give Cumbo every opportunity to shine?

I ask this in complete ignorance of anything going on within the club, personalities, lack of discipline, failure to adhere to team rules or "non-negotiables". Maybe Cumbo rooted the wrong person?

He apparently exaggerates the knocks/injuries then can jump up and kick a goal! Yep, that's weird. Some could even draw a long bow and say that he's a showman. Maybe he's just an immature kid who needs a lot of love and guidance.

Maybe his card has been marked and he's gone next year.

Posters have said it's pleasing to see Ben Miller finally finding his feet and really making a go of it. Absolutely! Go Ben!

I'd like to see Cumbo get a run of games and show us once and for all if he is worthy of persisting.

End the Cumbo farce!

Cumberland really is the 2nd coming.
Just like the 1st coming (McBean), the longer he is out of the team for the better he gets.

I’d like to see Cumbo get a run of games before a line is put through his name but can’t see the MC headed by Livingstone giving him a chance

I doubt he's being treated unfairly because he's 'different'. And staying down when you're not really hurt is not weird, it's selfish.

He will get a go soon enough, I think. Let's hope he grabs it with both hands.

In his last 5 games at AFL level he has kicked 2 goals.
In 2 games at VFL level this year he has kicked 2 goals.
2022 is a long time ago.

Got to trust the club on this one. There's definitely something he is not doing in order to be overlooked all the time. The balls in his court to change that..

His defensive pressure in the VFL against Gold Coast was excellent imo - he was running & chasing hard high up the field. He's quick and fairly hard at it. Even in his senior appearances last year I didn't have an issue with his defensive pressure watching him live.
By all accounts his pre-season training form was good as he got himself fit during the off season. Surely Yze would have seen his 2022 highlights to see what he's capable of. An in form and confident Cumberland would add so much to our forward line but for some reason Yze is not backing him in like he is with some of the other kids like Dow, MJ, Mansell, Brown, Banks etc. It's a strange situation.

so if it is purely his staging which is keeping him out of the seniors, is that a justified means for his exclusion?

I've heard this a few times but if you are talking about the Suns game he wasn't excellent imo, he was ok at best

I'm waiting for him to re-emerge because he has the ability but it is getting very concerning. I've watched him a few times this season in practice matches and vfl and he looks to me like he is trying too hard and is playing anxious footy with little confidence. If he can he probably needs to relax and play on instinct but I am not sure he can.

To me is he the type of player who needs to stop thinking and just play

But we’ve been told he needs the improve his defensive efforts which he’s been praised for by Steve Morris in 2 of his VFL games.

Who do you drop to make way for Cumberland?

For structural reasons, I'm not dropping Kosi. I know Lefau doesn't play classic tall, but he's physically big and should help keep a defender accountable.
We need some smalls to crumb and pressure. Not sure if Cumberland ticks both of those boxes, consistently.
To me, he'd take Dusty's spot in that medium role. Is he better than Dusty?
Where does he fit in a best 22?
