With the retirement of Luke Hodge and the only Top 10 Drafted player still playing of that super draft ,can someone tell me why we had no pick until the second round pick 33 David Rodan ?

Ironically Pick 4 Graham Polak from Fremantle ended up at the Tigers!

Just goes to show how good Geelong become with three champs in that draft & FS Ablett !

Move this to an appropriate or merge so apologies if discussed at another time.

I think we gave pick 17 to Sydney for Stafford.
Yep it ended up James Kelly I think, but went via 5 or so clubs before the Cats got it. Daffy may have been involved in that trade as well

For games played this draft smashes every other out of the park. Phenomenal list of talent.

Don't remember Luke Molan or Richard Cole
Molan was a tall at the Dee's I think, didn't last long at all, Cole was an indigenous player who played a few games for the Pies , may have ended up at the Bombers, played a bit like Marley Wiliams for memory

Yep Spud thought we were only Adam Houlihan and Paul Hudson away from a premiership. So we went and got both and neglected the best draft in history ::)

Pfft, ignore the best draft in history?

What about this list: D-Rod! A-Houl, C-Hyde and Marty McG!

Actually we got 65, 33, 93 and 4 games respectively (168 in total) which is probably one of our better strike rates!
