Now, Collingwood.

The Carringbush have continued to improve since their rebuild season of 2005.
Last year they were in the top 6 but failed to go all the way.
To me, somehow the Collingwood side seemed somehow out of balance with their mix of age groups to be a really top side.
Some players, eg Obree, seemed too "past it" to be there. Others, like young Brown, looked too young to be filling key positions.
Yet credit to them, they were still up there.

This is their list for 2010:

175-179 180-184 185-189 190-194 195-199 200+
28+ Lockyer 30 178 F Obree 31 182 M Prestigiacomo 32 193 D Fraser 28 202 R
Davis 28 177 U Johnson 28 182 M L.Brown 28 194 U Jolly 28 200 R
Medhurst 28 179 F
25-27 Didak 27 184 U Swan 26 186 M Maxwell 26 193 D
Ball 25 184 M Corrie 25 186 F
22-24 Shaw 24 184 D Toovey 23 189 D Rusling 23 190 F Cloke 23 196 F Mcnamara 24 204 R
Obrien 23 187 D Anthony 22 192 F Wood 23 204 R
Cook 22 186 M Buckley 22 190 U
Macaffer 22 187 F Goldsack 22 193 D
D.Thomas 22 185 F Pendlebury 22 190 M
18-21 J.Thomas 19 176 M Barham 21 181 M Wellingham 21 185 M Dawes 21 193 F N.Brown 21 195 D Keeffe 19 204 R
Blair 19 172 M *smile* 21 181 F Beams 20 186 M Reed 19 192 D Reid 20 195 F
Francis 20 182 M Mccarthy 20 189 M Carter 18 193 D
Rounds 19 181 M Blight 19 189 D
Sidebottom 19 184 M Hunter 19 185 U
Sinclair 18 182 M

As you may see, the squad looks as if it is in transition. It doesn't looked balanced.
But what is clear is that there is a real strength in their list from the development phase down.

My guess is that if they can continue to evolve positively, the Carringbush is headed to ultimate glory in the next few seasons.
But, it is hard to see it this year.
But then again, they are right up there and they will improve.

Meh, who knows for sure.

Please don't let that be the case.

Thanks for doing the previews Phantom. I really enjoy reading them and reflecting back on them throughout the season.
