I've had a thing about running backs for 30 yer or more. I'm at them. I want at least three running backs on the park.

I want them to break lines.

Breaking the line. Coming from behind a line of opponents with the ball or to receive the ball is gold. It forces the outnumber.

Peter Matera was a genius at this. When he played HB. That's how fr back I have to go to find somebody to compare to Houli for line breaking from HB. And Houli is miles better at work in formation. In the hole.

For running backs in Richmond's history, that I've seen, I have Houli #1. Keane. Bourke. Sheedy. Houli. Houli the best line breaker. And good in defence.

Houli. Best running back for Richmond in my time. Not many of his quality in the game ever.

Agree Dyer’ere, Houli is a critical part of our puzzle to the point where some oppositions have even put a tag on him.

I think this last final series shows that Short now has this position well covered with Baker are handy addition also. CAN stack recover his career to be our third, or do we need to develop a player like RCD to play this role.

Just finished reading his book - Faith, Family and Football - it’s a great read and he is a great Richmond man.

I am pretty confident that he will be at the tigers next year, maybe his last.
I read it over the last week or so and I was actually a bit disappointed by it. I was expecting a lot of stuff about his faith and I was happy to read about it but I got a bit bored reading about all intricate details of the rules to be honest.
I have enormous respect for what Bachar is doing and I think he is an important influencer in Muslim society but I thought the book was a bit light on for football detail

We need another Houli type. It’s a priority at the draft table.

You can still pinch them from other clubs, just got to find them.

Thought Alex Witherden was worth a punt last year.

There's a kid at Port Adelaide called Kane Farrell who is an incredible left foot kick.

Played some decent footy last year on a wing but keeps getting nudged out by the likes of Duursma and ending up as a small forward which isn't really his go.

Would be worth a nibble at the end of the year if he can't break a regular seniors game this year.

He's got a real hoof on him hasn't he. Used to see him practicing at the Camp with his dad. I'm not sure he can find the ball enough, but that could be that he is being played out of position as you said.

Very similiar player to Trent Mckenzie. Long and straight kick but doesn't get it enough.

Didn't know there were any other Mainers on here Shad, although I haven't lived there for twenty odd years now.

Last bloke I watched have a kick at the Camp has three Norm Smiths now. ;)

Surely Naish can make it his. Doesn't fit the mould of a Hardwick winger. Where else is he going to play?

Witherden is a great kick but not overly speedy.

Would you accept Torney or Chaffey?
Or Czekaski or Des Ryan?

I think recruiting is about spotting an attribute in a player that you can use to improve your team.

It's no exaggeration to say this guy could well be the best kick in the history of the game. Even the AFL guys are in awe of his leg. He makes Joel Bowden look like Duncan Kellaway.

If you could put the ball in his hands 20 times a game at half back with Lynch, Martin and Coleman-Jones inside 50 then you are going to be very hard to stop.

No need, if he doesn't cement a senior spot this year then trade a third round pick for him.
We turned Shorty into a B&F winning, almost Norm Smith winning superstar from a suburban hack.
We can do anything if they have a special quality in their arsenal.
I’m all in. Where do we sign?
