Brandon Ellis

Won’t be going anywhere - carries too much intel.

Read Mitch Robertson’s article on wingers if you want to understand why he keeps getting picked.

Kmac would be his only replacement. Pickett and Stack no chance.

Read the article on wingers. I'm sure it was referring to wingers of ability such as Smith and Sidebottom, not a fumbling, out-muscled, slipping, poor defensive Ellis act of last night. He's definitely going imo. He held of negotiations to try an increase his value but not sure we'll get much in a trade. Hopefully a Hawthorn sscenario does a Vickery job thinking they can improve him and pay overs. Unlikely if they watched that performance.

Couldn’t have said it better.
I’m rapt we won, but this dud did his very best to keep Brisbane in the game.
Did you see him miss the tackles? They we’re going through him to go forward

Beaten 1 on 1 almost every single time. It was infuriating. Only way that can happen is if you're hesitant, don't want the contact. 1 contested possie all night.

For mine he is a risk next game.

Found myself screaming at the tv saying please don’t give it to him.

Outbodied, outmarked & couldn’t lay a tackle.

Unfortunately Dimma will find it hard to omit him but based on last nights performance I’m sad to say I would.

If Stack trains well next well I would play him in the VFL maybe 50-60% game time and depending how he pulls up , replaces Ellis.

But there is guy called Pickett too built for finals waiting.

We often hear the talk of guys made for finals pressure , their game gets better the bigger the occasion,

Brandon looks like the opposite to me, as the pressure goes up , he is found wanting,

Nothing personal against him, I’d like him to succeed, but that’s just how it appears

Wing is a specialised position. You need a tank and you need to know where and when to run. Ellis was awful but the only like for like we have is Kmac and I think we've moved past that. Edwards could play there but he is too valuable elsewhere. Possibly Short but don't know that it would work. Menadue could do it but wont get a gig. If Stacky is available the MC might earn their stripes with a juggling exercise.

He is soft at the contest, hasn't laid a bump since the 2017 Q final on Danger, and he got hurt in that contest, constantly losing one on ones, putting team mates under the pump or letting tackles slip, I have watch him all year live and on TV, he just won't put his body on the line, he is a self preserver and should be dropped , this team is amazing to watch, they are carrying him, he actually offers nothing except elite running, he is a shadow on the park nothing more, even though K mac hasn't got the best skills, he will compete for the team , run all night and he can and does win one on one contests.

Ellis just looked half-hearted last night.

Zero intensity. Zero desire. He knows he is leaving and he just doesn't seem to care any more.

KMac (or maybe Pickett) just needs to seize the opportunity and have a blinder in the VFL next week.

Unfortunately I don't think even that would be enough.

Got beaten in every contest he was at
Rather play a 75% stack or Picket get a better output

His half hearted efforts last night had me thinking he has most likely agreed to leave and doesn’t want to get injured and sacrifice losing the money on offer.
If I was Hardwick there would be no chance he plays next week

Fair had the bobble hat on last night. Reckon it was probably his worst game for three years
Not sure Dimma will drop him as we had a few quiet finals experienced players last night. Always gunna be a few quiet players each week, so it's just as likely that Bobble, Bash, Lamblett, Flossy Broad etc will have more statistical influence n contribution next game while others might get sat upon in an effort to shut down our stars.

There a difference between quiet and losing the contest every time.

Many posters are piling in on Ellis and yes he had an average game but our All Australian in Houli did no better and not a peep out of these same posters on his poor performance,.

Just hope some of his suitors didn't watch last night.
There's nothing anyone would have seen last night that they didn't already know about Ellis. This was - as some call him - a typical Bobble game.
The one thing with our club, is they're likely to get around him and say "not good enough Brandon, but we know you can produce better. So redeem yourself in two weeks."

I'd personally prefer K-mac out there - as he's harder at it and taller, but that's on his shoulders to perform at VFL level.

Houli has more runs on the board. Many more.

Houli, Ellis and Short all had an ordinary night... and we still pantsed them! Our topliners were that good.

He can’t survive after that game. He was just plain soft.

He really has zero core strength. As soon as any body contact is made he drops. It’s amazing with the amount of core work that footballers do these days that he can’t apply any strength in a contest. That’s why he hates the contest. He knows it’s his weakness whereas players like Cotchin see it as their strength and embrace it
