I don't know if the fanatics chants were on the telly coverage but a couple cracked me up.

The first one isn't really nice but appealed to my sick sense of humour anyway. ;D

There's only one real man who plays for Spain
Aranxcha (sp) Sanchez is HIS name.

Woz was mentioning their hatred of the Spaniards for some well documented incidents the last time we played them in a final. He had a particular dislike for Albert Costa because of the way he treated the Aussies. Costa played the lead up rubbers but wasn't selected in this weeks final.

To Daydream Believer.

Cheer up Albert Costa
How sad must he be
Played in all three rubbers
Now he's watching on tv

Then whenever Ferrero made a mistake near the fanatics they hassled him with their Abba impersonation and he wasn't taking it too kindly.

Why, Why, Why, Ferrero

The tennis was amazing today. Am so proud to be Australian in a good fun crowd compared to what the Spanish crowd must have been.

There was an awesome laser show before the start of the game. Was worth going just to see that, ha.

James Morrison played a great rendition of the non-Spanish National Anthem. You'd have to wonder how they could play the wrong song.

Lleyton.....Son of a Tiger. What can I say. His refusal to be beaten obviously comes from his Richmond background. ;D

His determination to do his country proud is the kind of thing true Davis Cup legends are made of and Lleyton go down as one of the all time greats.

Hope Philipousis can fire up on Sunday.

Go Wayne and Todd tomorrow.

Speaking of Davis Cup greats there is some presentation to Pat Rafter tomorrow. What a pity his name never got engraved on a Davis Cup.

Am really looking forward to tomorrow. Could someone do a rain dance so they shut the roof please. It was bloody hot sitting in the sun.

A couple of tennis fans from the site have said to me they'd love to have gone if they could afford it. My advice is to put $2 a week into a piggy bank and start saving for when the next chance to go comes along.

The atmosphere and the tennis are incredible.

Thanks for that Rosy, I am sitting up the other end from the fanatics, with the Spanish fans in between us, so cant quite hear all of the words to their chants.

Thought that the Spanish fans were pretty quiet, after being at the Ties against the Swiss this year and also the 2001 final against France - both of those countries had very vocal fans. Although one of the Spanish fans kept getting into trouble with the security guys for running down to the front all the time and waving his flag at inappropriate times. He got escorted out at one stage and came back later minus his flag, so must have had it confiscated. I loved it when one of the fanatics came over to the Spanish section just before Lleyton won his match and was throwing green and gold streamers over the Spanish guy that was being a nuisance. Pity the people watching on TV miss out on seeing the fun things that happen in the crowd.

Oh well, must go now - gotta go and cheer on Todd and Wayno.

"Aussie, aussie, aussie Oi, Oi, Oi!

Start to save now for we are in Adelaide Feb 6th to the 8th 2004 against Sweden just after the Oz open.

If you have the chance to go, the Swedish fans are very entertaining - we went to the Tie in Sydney against Sweden a couple of years ago, it was great to be there. Probably wont be hard to get tickets either seeing it's just after the Oz Open - they might even sell single days instead of the 3 day package.
