I think number 5 is Rayson, not totally sure, always comes on, looks good, does some nice things and is taken off again. Can anyone fill me in?
Yes, 5 is Brad Rayson. Good prospect.
I've noticed this as well. Probably because he's
judged as "young" and "inexperienced", so they plan
to give him dribs and drabs of game time? Not sure.
At least he has a go.
Very ordinary game, and not real sure about Spargo, his quarter and three quarter time speeches seem to lack direction, just full of, stand up and be counted, show some spine, bla bla, which works sometimes, but given some direction to the team seems to be an afterthought as the huddle breaks.
Would be interested to hear Baktiger and Brownlows thoughts on this
I missed the 1st quarter spiel - young bloke wants
me to kick the ball back to him for some reason...
Just before 3 quarter time, a few of us were predicting
what the 3 quarter time "spray" was going to be like.
I got it right - along with another bloke...
At this stage, the game was over. Any changes
would have been shuffling chairs on the titanic so to
speak .... so individual direction would probably have
been superfluous.
All the tired old cliches ... "ticker" .. play for pride in yourself... bla bla.. I know what the message was (That
when a little pressure is applied that too many of them go missing (Particualrly the RFC blokes!) ).. and he stated that - But to tell you the truth - I felt that the
these players would have all heard that crap before
in the previous games and that the way it was
expessed wouldn't have exactly inspired me to do a lot
more. It was too late at that stage anyway.
Left me wondering if I should get a can of VB - and
I don't drink at the footy
Not withstanding that this particular game was over,
there doesn't seem to be a lot of individual
and team directions given. A few players seem to
get a mention as to what they have done, but there's
no hard directions given to anyone. It's more along
the lines of "you Richmond blokes" or "you blokes
representing Coburg". To be fair tho' he did instruct
the forward line to "move around" - and if you're
tired to stick your arm up (yes I'm serious) ... but by
that stage - geeze who really cared anymore. In other
games, you see the coach specifically point out players
and tell them what job to do and give a few contingency
plans as well - doesn't appear to happen (at least to us
mortals!) at Coburg games anymore ???
