Fly leaving

Big loss, I was hoping he'd take over from Dimma. Still if Dimma is staying it enables him to freshen up the coaching and the message.
He will be quite a loss, he's done a great job for us as our VFL and Development coach. Thanks, Fly. Well-done and you will be missed and remembered positively. He doesn't come across as your typical aggressive, macho type but obviously football smart and able to cultivate strong, supportive relationships with players that can bring out their best. Ditto for Leppa who has been brilliant too.

However, a guy that I knew little about and thought little of has started to impress me - Adam Kingsley. See his pre-match presser. I really like his calm, clear and measured responses which are also forthright and astute about the game. He is even cut from the same rugged, hardened defender mould as the great Tom Hafey and his current-day successor, Damian Hardwick.

Just wondering if AK has moved into heir apparent position if or when Dimma wants to call it a day? BTW, when does Dimma's 4 year contract actually expire? I wonder if he wants to stick at it afterwards with RFC or just take a break, whatever.

Could be 3. Evidently Kingsley is a front runner for the Kangas job.
Mate, just don't go there ,,, for your own sake. Anyway, isn't Vossy no.1 candidate? He's got the ego and toughness to take it on, but still reckon that club's future is not assured.

Yes Voss, Kingsley and one other I forget. Voss is definitely in the frame

North are in trouble for sure. Tassie kangas looms large

Can’t help but wonder if this has something to do with the punishment delivered to the club over the combination of Mrs Cotchin‘s beauty parlour visit and kebab gate.
Fly has been a terrific coach and is universally respected and always professional. Difficult to describe this in the time of covid, but this loss to me is as great as either Noah or Chai walking out the door.
I hope at seasons end the Club may consider seeking a review of the penalties handed down in Brisbane.
10 weeksx2 plus the soft cap penalty, was knee jerk and over the top.

*smile*. Leppa now Fly.

Jumping off a sinking ship

Seriously devastated Fly leaving, pretty sure it is because, 'There's no cash here. Here, there's no cash. Cash! NO'.1602893698751.png

*If the $100k shortfall in the soft cap is the major component why Fly left I don't know how Stack and CJ could walk back into the club even if they are given another chance. No doubt they have cost someone their job.

Can't comment on the financial decision in this but have heard on local ABC radio this morning he is seen as a big chance to take over from Clarkson if/when he decides to move on.

Just the reality of the new financial landscape unfortunately.

Long term assistant coaches are well paid and you just simply can't fit them all into the cap now.

Yep, unfortunately.

On the bright side, the new financial landscape requires clubs not only to adapt, but to adapt quickly. This ability ultimately comes from having a smart CEO, and a smart board.

We’re in very good hands.

Its obviously about the coin - Fly said publicly that Caracella was mad to leave the Tiges last year.

Fly's strength is his ability to develop young players, this is why Hawthorn want him. They will be hitting the draft next couple of years I reckon
