Free Agency 2021

Seems like there could be a bit of action happening here this year on the Free Agency front.

I cant see us losing any players from the list below but you just never know.

David Astbury
Mabior Chol*
Shane Edwards
Dylan Grimes
Bachar Houli
Kamdyn McIntosh
Ben Miller*
Jack Riewoldt
Nick Vlastuin

With the draft picks we have on hand this year, I would be staggered if we dont make a play for someone. Yes I know you dont need to trade for these players but its good to have the picks in the bank as back up.

Gut feel says we are right into Josh Kelly.

Others of note that could be gettable:
Patrick Cripps
Luke Parker
Zach Merrett

The home of Dusty
Carlton would be very nervous about him. If they fail to make finals again this year he will surely consider leaving them.

I think they are heading in the right direction and he is a quality person so I doubt he would jump off, but if Houli, Riewoldt and possibly Cotchin were to retire we would likely have the TPP space so it's a tantalising thought.

We would be an awesome force for years to come.

Of our blokes, I could see KMac being lured to Gold Coast if he falls back out of the 22 again.
I wonder if teams might try to throw significant money at Flossy, that we might struggle to match?

Brings leadership, culture and defensive knowledge that teams might be seeking.

He looked spent near of last season.
My only worry is Carltoon have ran him into the ground.

Smart move by the Blues would be to burn him down then trade for absolute Maximum.

Smart move for Cripps is to fein a season ending injury and then nominate the Tigers.

Same MO can be utilised by Bont, Rowell.

Pardon my ignorance, by why does Riewoldt only become a free agent now?
He's played 14 years.
I'm probably wrong..... but I thought he signed a 5yr deal just before he reached the FA threshold, then extended by 2yrs to help accommodate Tom Lynch. (I think that's what he said in a throwaway comment? )
