Just watched Adam Scott’s loss to Ernie Els in the Open for the first time, a couple of great sportsman there. Both so respectful and humble unlike a lot of others

Think Jason Day will have a big BO with the richest ever kiwi sportsman on his bag.

Watching some old replays, amazing to watch Tom Watson's near miss from 10 years ago. He was pretty stiff at the end, Cink birdied 18 from about 15 ft to get to 2 under. Watson teed off the Par 5 17th at 2 under, hit a nice drive and followed it with a 264 yd rescue that just ran through back of green. It was a pure shot. Made birdie and only needed a par 4 on 18. Teed off into perfect position with rescue and followed with a pured 8 iron that just ran through the middle of the green (was downwind) and he failed to get up and down from an awkardish lie. The playoff was just too much for an emotionally drained 59 yr old. It was a remarkable tournament.

Unfortunately strong winds not forecast (27 kmh only on the Sunday showing as forecast ATM) so it may not be the sternest test of golf. Hopefully it does blow a bit.

It's what makes to British Open unique, and a great golf tournament. Experience counts for so much a lot of the time.

How old was Norman when he led after 54 holes? Mid 50 's? Held on pretty well in the final round too.

I'm with you MD, hope she blows a gale at some point.

Great tournament for Lowry. Very difficult conditions but he held his nerve. Fleetwood will rue a lot of missed putts, especially early.

Kevin Chappell just missed an 8 foot birdie put on the 18th for a 58 in the Greenbrier Classic in the US, a fair sort of round.

The wheels have really fallen off for Robert Allemby, he shot a 45 for the front nine at the Australian PGA yesterday.
He was 7 over after 3 holes after double, triple and double bogies.

Well done to Lucas Herbert, who just won The Dubai Desert Classic in a play off.
On the first play off hole (Par 5 18th) he hit his 2nd shot into the drink and then after a drop, hit his 4th to 2 feet to salvage a par.
Back to 18th again, he smashed his drive, hit his second to about 15 feet and 2 putted for a birdie.

Leishman birdied 18, lead is still 2 shots after Rahm birdied 17, Rahm needs an eagle on 18 to force a play off.
