Jasper Alger

The lad is obviously getting close but right now the firsts small forwards look settled so he may have to bide his time for a few weeks but will get there in the end

I would still love to give him a game just to see how he fits in at the level

hmm interesting choice of words. the firsts small forwards look settled. Are they deserving of a game though.

No word on a double debut ? Looks like he's not playing this round. Damn.

He seems to be knocking on the door for a start in the firsts. If one of our small forwards don't fire this weekend then he will probably debut in the Roos game (I hope)
Should have debut this week, Missed a chance against a pathetic eagles

Stiff shouldve been in for mine.

Smith also stiff.

Its West Coast who dont care, couldnt be a better game for him to debut in.

I see Jamie Elliot type qualities with Jasper. Will be a quality player and an important part of our future premiership push.
this. Totally agree, Elliot is the type.
Get him to watch Billy,s patterns and work rate.

Jamie Elliot is his own type, he is a freak.

Jasper is modelling himself on Toby Green which is perfectly fine ;) :)

Elliot is def one of the best small forwards to have played over the years. Bloke has missed probably 70 to 80 games over his career due to injury issues which has only been good for other clubs, otherwise he'd be nearing the 300 game mark n 450 career goals. Been huge for Colonwood.

Another solid game , progressing nicely without demanding an AFL debut . The one area his probably cost himself a debut in is his crumbing goals , not that every gun small forwards kick them all , however there’s 5 shots hes had in 2 of his last 3 games ( 3 goals in the middle) that he should’ve kicked atleast 3 more goals. Doing a lot right and hopefully as fitness builds he’ll take a step forward , definitely like to see him getting a bit more time up the ground for his overall football education.

I haven't seen that much but seems a trend of not taking opportunities.

Was this an issue at junior level?

Can't afford small forwards who get it but on average don't convert.

Not sure RE , didn’t see much of his junior career ,if anything I’d say he has probably had more time then he realises and just got boot on ball a bit quicker then needed. he does seem more of a mark -goal forward than a traditional small forward who gets more goals from crumbing . Skills do look good to me though

Is he still gonna be better than Murphy Reid though ?
