Maurice Rioli Jnr

Was a pretty tough day at the office for all our small forwards in Campbell, Mansell & Rioli Jnr.

Maurice tried hard but definitely his worst for a while. Not alone there though.
Would drop all 3 next week
Forget about the madness on pressure acts
Pressure acts come 2nd to winning your own ball
All 3 failed at that today
Clearly not good enough
Suggest Cumberland who can win a ball in dispute and Coulthard gets games next week

Maurice has been good the past month. Doubt he'll go out.
The other two vulnerable though.

This week he was not up to his newfound standard but to be fair to him the ball service to the forward half was putrid and we had so many gaps all around the field all he could do was harry the opposition
Possibly so, but Mansell doesn’t get off as easy. Actually on all stats Mansell had the better game. Which isn’t really saying much.

Why didn’t they play Jr in the role he had last week? Or did they and he just couldn’t get near the ball?

It’s been mentioned he played as a small forward..is that forward pocket or half forward? We had 38 inside 50’s
I did see him down in the backline on a few occasions, what was exact role? He did have a few runs downfield..on the ball or chasing?

It looked like Daniel played the high half forward role rotating with Seth and Rhyan. MJR staying deeper. Danial looked good with ball in hand and delivered well but not as much pressure. MJR did chase out a couple of times but early in the game we had 18 players behind the ball a few times and when we got a/the turnover had no-one to go to. They looked to keep a couple of guys in the forward 50 after the half time.

From last week a few things got switched around. Not sure that many of the moves worked.

Moju had a mare, plain n simple. At least he had about a dozen mates who weren't much better during the game.

Sad to see, one of our few sparks tonight.

This season is a right off I am afraid, even from a development perspective - Gibcus, Ross, Clarke and now Junior.

5 kicks, 4 hbs
5 effective disposals. He went at 55% disposal efficiency. 4 clangers, 3 turnovers! 100 mg., 2 tackles, 4 SI, SuperCoach 33
If he was one of our sparks it didn’t spark too bright for too long.
Apart from 4 SI he didn’t do much at all. His furious running belies what he actually does. He stats showed where we’re at.
Another meh game.

I was convinced it was his knee at the time so that is a better result though he’s likely t to miss Dreamtime which will be very disappointing given he & his Mum designed the jumper.

Looks like the dreaded syndesmosis.

Will be out for sometime.

On a football front I can’t for the life of me work out why the last few games he is back playing deep forward.

Was only thrown up the ground in the last quarter.

When we only had about 10 scores, 4 SI's is pretty significant
Which I acknowledged. 4 SI is significant when the team has had a very poor game and that reflects that
But after that the cupboard was bare. It was a poor game from him, but he had quite a few mates in the same boat
