It's good to see most people on this site are generally keeping things in perspective with regards to our performance so far this season.
There's a few people however, who are talking about finals footy etc. which is very premature. At the end of the day, there's a number of positives....but there's also a few negatives or reasons to be cautious. What does everyone think ?
Some of the positives (there's probably a few more):
1) Big Dud Frawley (probably because Brittain has made him aware) has finally recognised that playing Coughlan and Rodan on the ball more will improve our performances at stoppages and in the centre. Hooray !
2) Stafford is having a real impact. At last, someone with a bit of nastiness. We need two more nasty players...
3) Tivendale has gone up a level.
4) We are much more aggressive at the opposition when they have the ball than we were last year.
5) Johnson has been valuable and freed up Campbell.
6) Newman has been as solid as a rock.
7) A couple of additions at around the half way mark of the season will give us added flexibility.
Some negatives:
1) Whilst we can only beat those we're drawn to play, the fact remains that our 4 wins have come against mediocre sides. The only good side we've played so far flogged us. We'll TRULY know where we are once we've played Port Power Nap and the Bummers.
2) We are still persisting with duds. Rogers and Pettifer should not be in the team. Fiora is an absolute deadsh*t who makes mistake after mistake.
3) Granted, he's got a big job at the moment but Ray Hall is struggling. His kicking is getting worse and worse. I've watched him at training a heap lately and ultimately, I don't think he's up to scratch.
4) We're putting too much pressure on Kellaway and Gaspar. They can't keep this up.
5) We keep talking about Holland being a saviour for the backline. Garbage. He's played half a good season in 6 and is coming off a knee reco. No way. We should be trying out Schulz - no matter how young and inexperienced so as to get a long term solution.
