Richmond forward Matthew Richardson is in the wars again, and will miss at least one match after suffering a small hairline fracture of his cheekbone during the match against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.
Richardson will undergo surgery on Tuesday and the Tigers are hopeful that their star forward will only miss Sunday’s clash with Fremantle at the MCG.
They are optimistic that with their next match not until Easter Monday against St.Kilda, that his absence will only be for one match. And he will be needed back by the Tigers as soon as possible, with their other star big man, Brad Ottens, sidelined for half the season because of a back injury.
The injury is less severe than that to defender Ty Zantuck, who was sidelined for six weeks after suffering a cheekbone injury during an incident outside a nightclub in February.
