Wholesale changes Frawley you are a joke........you have included 3 duds and may as well have left Hilton in the team. Even Hilton out of form is better thatn the same old tired hacks in and out every week.

Interesting to see that Brisbane, the back to back premiers have named 3 rookies for this weeks game.

IMO a club that can achieve and sustain any form of success needs to blood in approx. 3-4 new young players every year. Last year we introduced 1 and this year none. This is one youngster compared to the optimal amount of say 6-8 over a 2 year period. We have placed ourselves behind the 8 ball not only for this year but also for the future.

Hang on - my apologies - I forgot. Clinton King might come good so we better persist with him and offer him another contract. Oh yeah - another thing - Beck's been busy to attend any under age games in the past few years so we'll take a punt on Fleming. ;D

Didn't we blood 4-5 last year? Umm Rodan , Newman , Hyde , Ednie..Wel lthats 4:)
Not that i disagree with the criticsm of our disgusting recruitng or anything..

Getting off topic but its interesting to see everyones hope that with Greg Miller on board things will improve..
Are we getting our hopes up a little bit too much?
All i know about greg miller is that he pulled off the coup of getting Carey and Longmire and when he became CEO of north he was a disaster.

I know he was at north during a very successful period but there obviously were other people there contributing to their success..
Would be interesting if anyone here has a more thourough knowledge of him and his strengths and weaknesses and what he can bring to this club..
Not just some vague notion of him being some great white hope.

You're being rather harsh there Harry boy! Don't you remember the blooding of Schulz? He was given 2 minutes against Essendon when we were 40 points up in the last quarter and he only managed a measily tackle. Clearly he wasn't up to it! ;D How much proof do you want!

About the selections: I'll be surprised if Hall gets a touch in wet weather. He's no where near as good in the wet as he is in the dry, where is is liable to pick up 5 posessions. Surely Vardy would be more adapt at playing wet weather footy than Hall!

Another concern is Richo. He's unco at the best of times, hard to see him being much use on a cold wet wintry day. I suppose he's needed out there for some leadership though. I'd like to see him marshall the troops from the pine.

Harry your posts continue to bring those tears to my eyes!!!!

We always have the excuse that OUR youngsters shouldnt be thrown into senior footy incase they might actually know how to play!!!!! I dont care how skinny they are if there good enough that can play!!! Look at Wells, Brennan, Judd!!! They were all early draft picks and lpayed straight away!!!!

None near the size of schulz!!!!! How he cant get a game is beyond me!!! Or has our recruiting unearthed another dud???? Play the kid and see what hes got!!! Not a danny frawley GO were the kid plays for 5 minutes has 1 touch and gets dropped!!!! As far as im concerned we picked him up at no 12!!!! He should be more than ready!!!! I suppose though we would rather have him play in a reserves side who is playing absolutely shocking footy so he learns and develops his skills for B grade footy!!! Well done Spudder keep that losing culture going!!! Destroy our future talent!!!!

I have heard good things about Kelvin Moore, but that he is very light on!!!! That guy ferguson at melbourne and a few of those freo players are built of straw yet they get a game????

Have to agree with the boresome foursome this time- really gutless selection IMO. I would put a quick $50 on Holland playing- another of Frawley's cunning selection games.
I think Vardy is stiff not getting a run, but i guess you don't want Holland and Vardy coming in the same time. Shultz- same thing.
Which i guess leads to the question- Where are our remaining good medium guys? As i understand it Dragga has had injuries, but is there anyone else? If so, give them a run, cause it's not like we could be doing much worse than your pick of Hilton, King Pettifer.
How much were those tickets on the sack Frawley bandwagon Harry? I've got to get groceries this week, but if we lose to Carlton...

to say spud hasnt got a clue about player management is a joke.
afterall he is in the best position to evaluate each player.

well said J2R, completely agree but I just can't be bothered arguing with the ferals anymore. After all these guys know more then the RFC match committee!! No, I'm not going to get into these debates anymore.

I will say this and this is reality: The playing list, coach, match committee, administration, recruiting manager and anybody else who is coping a bagging on this forum is not going to change until seasons end. We know how each individual person on this forum feels about things, but c'mon guys, people are getting tired of reading the same negative crap all the time!! Give it a rest, please.

PS. Johnson won't play this week, Hilton will play at Coburg, Holland or King will come in depending on weather.

And stop asking for Schulz to play seniors for Christ sake. The reality is that he is struggling at Coburg at the moment. If he played seniors you would be on this forum complaining what a dud he is. Give the guy some time to develop, he would get murdered in the seniors. Watch him at training Richo, Staf and even Vardy kill him in the one on ones at the moment.

On the bright side : the selectors will have Blumfield ; Johnson ; Campbell and Holland up their sleeves for the trip to Brisbane.

This is the week for King, Bidders, Pettifer and Dunc (amongst others) to make a statement about their footy.

if schulz isnt ready to play in the seniors then why did we pick him up in the draft?

and i disagree with saying we gave cogs time in the reserves, yes that was the initial intention but because our midfield was crap and our season was basically over half way through last year frawley bit the bullet and threw him in, at the time he had played half a year in the reserves, its now half way so chuck in shulz see how he goes !!!!!!!!!

Are you serious PRR????

We picked Schulz at selection 12 to DEVELOP him into a key position player. Just like the Bulldogs picked Walsh, Geelong picked Mackie, Roos picked McIntosh and Bombers Laycock all these players are young (17 & 18)key position players that were picked before Schulz and none of them have played senior footy because clubs are DEVELOPING them. Like Schulz these guys are not ready, so we are not teh only club in this situation. this hapens at all clubs.

We selected Schulz in the draft becasue long term he going to be a very good player. If we hadn't of picked some other team would have. But as the Boss has said he is not ready for senior footy. He has just turned 18 for crying out loud.

Regarding Cogs: he was drafted in the 2000 draft (for the 2001 season). From what I have read people who posted on various sites said when he was drafted "why oh why - did you see the look on his face"

Then....

If my memory serves me correctly he played a 3 maybe 4 games in the seniors in 2001. Most people said at the time he wasn't up to it and he went back to Coburg. Not strong enough they yelled.

Was called up in 2002 because our mid field was woeful. And the cries came again - "why hasn't he been played earlier". Move forward to 2003 and he is one of gun players. Seems to me the Club cannot win!

One thing no one ever seems to acknowledge here is that the RFC has huge responsibility for the players' welfare. There have been some young players that have ended up leaving the game early because "the were thrown to wolves" at 17 & 18. Personally, I don't want that to happen to any of our players.

yes your right lill my mistake he was pick 25, 2nd pick after pick 8 for petrified in the 2000 draft

im just really annoyed at our wait our turn crap, develop our players we keep hearing, i might be selfish but i want my turn now !!!!

collingwood didnt have to wait, westcoast were out of it for 2 years max, port adelaide have been in the comp a micro second, lions were the laughing stock just 2 and a bit years ago. yet 20 years on and all we show is frustration.
