Now this is a far more relevant item where state politics is concerned. Agree.
Its certainly relevant and needs to be addressed, but the narrative from the LNP doesn't even look at the detail. Stating that people are scared to go out, scared to go shopping etc, suggests an increase in violent offences which just isn't the case. The vast majority of the increases that we are seeing are increases in theft of motor vehicles (from homes, by young kids mainly, we've all seen the news reports and the change in the bail laws are focused on this) and shoplifting. How does having you car stolen from your house, or people shoplifting lead you to be scared to go out? Thats the assumption the LNP have come up with, if they don't know what the actual issue is, how do you expect them to fix it, they'd prefer to come up with statements like they did which are totally unrelated to facts, rather than actually address the facts.
