The Geelong Cants

To be fair to Scott he would have just assumed the AFL would tick it off, he is the coach of Geelong.

SHocking still has tentacles all the way to AFL house. The conflict of interest has been palpable since he took the Geelong job.
No such thing as a conflict of interest at AFLHQ. Place has been totally interbred for the last 30 years or more. Amish villagers n American mountain men got nothing on the AFL when it comes to incestuous relationships.

So, let me get this straight. Scott, having become so good at the “all consuming” profession of AFL coach, has decided to seek out an additional challenge by taking a side gig as some *smile* leadership guru for a financial services company based in the Geelong area?

And we are all supposed to assume this is legit?
AFL coaches have sooooo much free time of course it is a legitimate second Job, probably even have time for a third job , maybe with Ford as head of leadership, I am sure they have a few more sponsors that have job vacancies as head of leadership he will probably get appointed to as soon as the AFL give the well deserved tick of approval to his second job.

Chief Leadership at Elders looking after the farm gate division, don’t forget that one.

Amazing how their new recruit Bailey Smith had an existing ambassador role with Cotton On, also a Geelong FC sponsor.

Just incredible how he ended up wanting to play there and so fortunate that it turned out that way.

Amazing how he has a farm down there bought before he requested a transfer.

I’m listening to Chris Judds book on Audible (was on special for $6) and he just did the chapter on his Visy ambassador deal. He describes his role as ambassador as walking the factory saying hello to the staff and attending Christmas parties of some of Visy customers.

He says the AFL investigated and orchestrated an outcome where half his Visy salary should go into Carlton’s salary cap. He said that amount was conveniently the amount Carlton could absorb in its cap without going over it.

When the handbaggers start to drop form, how long before the faithful start to turn and say saltys mind isn’t on the job and he is too distracted with side hustles

Also, apparently, they are going to change their name to the Greater Western Victoria Cats because they’re running out of legitimate farms to offer prospective recruits

I’d forgotten Scott’s comments a few years ago about being an AFL coach:

“It’s just hard work. It’s a stressful existence.”

“But I’ve always got time and energy to be employed as the Chief of Leadership and Performance at Morris”

The bigger issue what a waste of money from Morris in being a sponsor of Geelong. Did anyone even know they were a sponsor? And have been for a decade?

Sheesh thank god for that. I thought you were going to mention Tasmanian you know whats for a sec.
We don't need to go there.

I was out at a lunch yesterday and one of the people there does business in Geelong. He goes there a bit and is on a Committee that happens to include some influencial Geelong FC supporters/identities. (I can't give names)

The thing is that this guy who is friend of mine is a big Bulldogs fan and he is very dirty on the Bailey Smith situation. He said that he was told by these Geelong people in early 2023 that Smith would be going to Geelong in 2025 and that he was already in the fold through his sponsorship by Cotton On.

Last week he went to a meeting down there and he was asked what he thought of Bailey Smith. His answer was "dodgy character at a dodgy club....perfect match" . Didn't go down well evidently :ROFLMAO:

Listening to Joel Selwoods book on Audible as I now the lawns. Quite possibly the most dull insipid sports autobiography I've read/listened.

Just heard his description of the Tom Stewart/Dion hit.

"Unfortunately Tom Stewart was suspended for his bump on Dion Prestia. He paid the price for mistiming his bump"

I laughed and laughed

A BUMP!!!!

A neutral would rightly call it for what it was- an act of thuggery
A Richmond person would call it more accurately- a dog act by a cowardly sniper

Yer, we on PRE know what we would call it, but Selwood is hardly a neutral. You cannot expect him to come out and say anything like ... the truth!
