I want to nominate Mr.T for an Order of Australia, a knighthood even, for implementing an ignore button.

It essentially provides an executive summary of the gameday thread.

I'd love to see stats on the top 3 ignored posters. Although picking them is like picking the last 3 home in the all-star mile.

Dunno if you can see this reply but I think publicising the top ignored posters is internet bullying. No need to make a fanfare of it, just Ignore and enjoy the peace. We lost the Ignore feature last time mainly due to people making public who they have on their ignore list.

In saying that, the matchday thread is something truly extraordinary when selective use of the Ignore feature turned on.

Agree 100%. You would think ignore will already cause some people to stop posting so no need to ostracise folks. I guess I’m more a popcorn eater so I always found it amusing. Too much crap going on in RL to worry about a nasty message on PRE.

Don't know why you would ignore posters for negative comments or differing opinions. Abusive personal posts I can understand.

Yep - sums it up nicely
The St Kilda matchday thread was the first time I’d used it and not until the second half when I’d finally worked it out
And from that point on it was like in The Castle ..... “How’s the serenity? So much serenity!”

wouldn't mind a duel function. You can challenge a poster you are disagreeing with on a protracted basis to an online duel, or if 2 posters are at it for too long and getting on most posters nerves they could be sent off for a duel to sort it out. would have to be kung-fu master 1985-style. Simple and effective and wouldn't need much bandwidth. Could be some earning opportunities with online betting too.

I thought a little spinning turntable record player with the needle not moving icon would be well subscribed too
