The March to September - 2019

4th place is the mission.,
Imagine an MCG qualifying final versus top of the ladder v Geelong.

They are beatable, nervous during finals, and due for a loss.

Straight to a home prelim if we are good enough.
Or a semi on the MCG if we lose.

And no one below us worries me on our ground.

But we’ll need to be good to get there.

And we are fresh, dangerous and very good.

Eight-day break followed by two more six-day breaks.

After 16 rounds we’ve had a grand total of six games at the MCG, including three against co-tenants.

Our fixture has been shithouse.

The job is ours if we are good enough to take it.
It begins now.

3 of them games against teams below us on the ladder - but that could increase to 5 if we keep winning by the time we get to them, the pies and lions that is.

We go to 3rd at the end of next week if

R16
GWS BEAT Bris
———————
R17
WCE d Coll
Power d Bris
Rich d GWS

All those winners would be playing at home versus interstate teams.

Lovely - and to debut so many first gamers and for all of them to show something and keep us in the season shows how much depth we have

Of course the dunderheads on BigFooty reckon the AFL are biased towards us giving us 7 games at the G to end the H&A season.

Essendon’s played more games at the MCG than us. Yeah we get to stay at home from here but we’ve had practically zero “home ground advantage” to date.

% won’t matter
Unless I’m missing something % plays a very big part. We’d need to bridge ours from 103% to Brisbane’s 111% and Collingwoods 118%
