With Graham in great form and Ross coming in we have a beast midlfield and it allows both Cotchin and Martin to play forward or wing. What a luxury.

Martin, Cotchin, Prestia, Lambert, Ross, Graham with cameos from Shed, Stacky and Bolton (5 clearances yesterday). That's our point of difference this year whilst in 2017 it was our No 1 defence (plus Dusty)

The more I think about it the more I think Balta should come in for Chol and get the job on Mc Govern swapping with Nank. Both can hurt him the other way

Outs will be Chol, Ross (needs to get fully fit) & Short (or Bolton);
Ins will be Martin, Cotchin & either Soldo or Balta. Under no circumstances can we play an undersized second ruck.

If it wasn’t Cotchin and Matin coming back in I’d say Pickett would be a cert, no doubt mc want him in there , Smokey for me to replace Chol is CCJ , I like the idea of Balta though

I thought Caddy played a good game yesterday and deserves to stay.

Ross is a gun.

Bolton disappeared after halftime but so did others. We looked very "Heavy Legged". We played the previous 2 weeks in wet games and it showed after halftime in yesterday's slog. I really hope they are rested early this week and refreshed for this Sunday.

Our rucking situation is interesting. At this point I think Soldo is is too slow and Chol isn't providing enough of a contest. I think Balta played well enough to earn a call up.

My team would be:

IN - Cotchin, Martin, Pickett, Balta
OUT - Baker, Ellis, Short, Chol

Broad Astbury Vlaustin
Houli Grimes Stack
Caddy Martin Edwards
Rioli Riewoldt Lambert
Castagna Lynch Bolton
Nank Cotchin Prestia

Graham, Ross, Pickett, Balta

Townsend, Menadue, Markov playing well back in the 2's. I'm loving Markov's new found position and Townsend is looking involved and has definite spring in his step. Menadue is getting to more contests and seems to be more comfortable with each week.

Emergency: Baker, Townsend, Markov

That spine looks .... Delicious!

With 2 games remaining they won't tinker much more, biggest selection committee meeting thus far. Hardwick will want a settled team and structure coming into the final tow games.

He has a full midfield arsenal at his disposal, who he goes with is fascinating because so much the past few years has been about adaptation to play multiple positions.

With Cotchin and Martin in I'm predicting Bolton will be unlucky. I have no idea who the 2nd will be. Ellis or Short would be the obvious ones for me but that would require a bit of a shuffle of other players in the team. Caddy maybe. Or maybe we'll cut Chol and play shorter and try and run WC off their legs. So many players are playing pretty good footy atm or required for the right balance an structure, there just aren't any obvious choices.

I think we are a better team with Soldo at the center bounces and Nank around the ground. Nank can also play as a forward.

Short has been turning it over too much and has no contested game.

Bolton might just need a wake up call but we probably need his speed against the West Coast smalls

I know Cotchin deserves the highest level of respect but I'm wondering if he is in our best side at the moment given the amount of footy he has missed?

That’s 10 seconds of my life I’ll never get back.

It's not about Short or Cotchin though because Cotchin plays midfield and Short doesn't. Cotchin v Ross is more accurate.

Clearly he plays on ability but with the amount of footy he has missed he has to be down on touch, timing and match fitness, not to mention the cloud over his durability to hold up in hard finals games without proper conditioning.

I think playing him certainly has an element of risk, particularly when our depth is strong enough to bring in solid replacements like Ross.

Lost argument I'm afraid. Yes Cotchin is a midfielder but he could play Short's position better than him and dare I say a number of others positions as well.

I dont understand how Soldo can ruck and Nank play around the ground?? Unless you are suggesting Nank play as a midfielder? Alongside Soldo? No chance.

Nank is an ok forward and ok around the ground, compared to others rucks. as a standalone forward he is poor. i hope we dont play them both.
