Game day thread - r22: 2019 WCE (MCG)

classic game, full finals feel. Different stratosphere to Geel Bris yesterday. If luck had been evenly distributed, 4 or 5 goal win.

Yes, almost exactly actually.
If the teams had kicked with the same accuracy, the final score is 15.8(98) to 11.6(72).
If you reverse the accuracy, it's 18.5(113) to 10.7(67).

Unbelievable win Tigers. Smashed them after quarter time.

If only we could convert our dominance to the scoreboard.

We are actually lucky to have these games at the end of the season, great form to go into a finals series.

Whilst on the topic, ask Google why Corn Flakes were invented
Wasn't that a couple of god bothering Mormon scientists trying to invent some food that would pacify n kill off rampant male testosterone back in the good old days?

Let's get over this rain myth rubbish. We're not any better in it. Just wish it would stop.

In a field full of terribly inaccurate posts this gets my prize for most inaccurate on the game day thread. (I've excluded frawleyudud on the basis he has the top 20 sewn up).

It's our fault if we can't control the ball. I thought we learnt from fumbling 2 years ago!!
Do you realise the ball was like a cake of soap? Just ridiculous posting about fumbling in those conditions.

Get off it MD. Means nothing. Have you seen us go up a notch or 2 when it starts raining?

The umpire, who I am sure had money on West Coast, claimed that Caddy fell on his back after the tackle.
I don't think that's right, I think it was for a slam tackle (which McGovern did earlier when he pinned the arms of Prestia (I think) and slammed him.)
I thought the umpire gave a signal showing a slam tackle motion.

Just got back from the 'G.
What a game. Conditions weren't great for skills. Umpires were atrocious. We gave a quality team a 5 goal head start. In wet and blustery conditions we kicked nearly 100 points. The Afl website is calling it the game of the season.
Well done boys. One of the best H&A wins we've had.

PS: Following this thread while at the game, was very amusing reading the usual suspects' contributions about the sky falling in. Always funny to read after the game as well.
Never give up hope. This is the new Richmond. We might lose a game here and there but it's a lot different from just a few years ago where it was we MIGHT win a game here and there

Who won the game you pickle? We haven't lost in the wet for half a decade.
What difference does that make you gherkin? We only won by 1 goal. Could've gone either way.

I'll repeat again. I see other teams fumble the ball less than we do, especially WC.

Gawd I love watching the Tiges play footy. What a massive roller coaster of a game, best way I know of to relieve tension, stress n angst without going feral n clocking some one ( n I'm far to old to be even considering doing any of that *smile* these days ).
Massive rock n roll rampage of emotion n strut throughout the game, finished off with a throat ripping singalong. Now I can breathe n laugh for another week until we play Brisvegas n then I'm pissing off for a pre finals break to Phuket.

He gave in the back. How that tackle from McGovern was not a free for a dangerous tackle I have no idea. Lifted him off the ground and slammed him into the turf. Lucky he didn't knock him out.
