Game day thread - r22: 2019 WCE (MCG)

Great, intense last quarter ... finals like (nothing flash - body behind the hall - intent over finesse)

Seemed like every weagle hacked kick forward fell into the lap of a team mate, some really infuriating umpiring -huge stress seeing grimes carried off the ground - huge relief seeing him back ( the crowd roar where grimes kicked it forward )

Great win!

Anyone notice the reactive body language of WC as the 2nd Q went on? Reminded me of the Crows in the GF.

Thought our bottom six were quite poor in the heat brought to the G today. Which isn't usually our trademark. Interesting to see how much our young players bank from this game. Not going to get a better finals experience.

It wasn't raining in the first half. WC noticeably cleaner and slicker than us.
In the first quarter yes. But in the second quarter we were dominant. Just missed too many sodas which we seem to do all too often.

Big Dance dress rehearsal.

2 heavy weights.

With green maggots, only a goal between them, but a 4 goal win in my form line. The w rioli in the back, the non soldo mark, the non JR mark make us 4 goals better.

If one veiwed our centre set up entirely objectively, you could argue Soldo gives us more than nank? Just saying. Maybe theres no place for objectivity in football supportership?

Of the fringe, brando and caddy cemented their spots

Someone? did a job on a rampant liam ryan after 1/4 time. Suspect it was bakes. Hes in too

I think the killer J's - ross and graham - maybe nulified yeo and shuey too?

Also West Coast kicked 13.4 in the wet. Incredible. The 2 Jacks and George missed absolute sodas. There’s your 4 goal win right there.

Always the first thing I do when I get home from the game is read this thread, nothing beats it for a giggle.
Atmosphere at the ground was amazing today, umpire 32 contributed to that significantly, great win by the boys, Dusty just frigging awesome

Great game of footy played between two very good sides.
Loved the fact that it was an open game in dry weather instead of a rolling maul game.
I went with a Geelong supporter who commented that the pressure and skill was a different level to their game yesterday.

What was the plan that went into Darling after 1/4 time? He was on fire early. I was expecting a new bum hole.

Not so sure about that. He kicked a lucky goal in the goal square and was then gifted a goal from a very soft ruck free. Didn’t do much afterwards I thought.

What difference does that make you gherkin? We only won by 1 goal. Could've gone either way.

I'll repeat again. I see other teams fumble the ball less than we do, especially WC.

I don't think you are correct at all, but if for arguments sake you are, the reason for that is we go quick when we go. Its part of the package of why we are a good side and win games, we back ourselves, take risks and go.

IMO Rioli has been living on borrowed time for over a month. Ross looked out of sorts for mine too
Mabs not quite ready for finals intensity yet me thinks from only be able to watch his efforts in the last. EevanII played a great last quarter. Believes he belongs now. Do we go Soldi/ Nanks one day?

how painful is Lyon to listen to? Just an idiot. Always looking for what players did wrong, never says great play, its always someone's fault. I hate the fool.

Soldo had two ruck frees against him in the first quarter (Oscar Allen the other) just for being bigger and stronger.

Was lucky but it was all happening for him/them. There was also a good mark on the wing around that same time. To be fair I watched most of the first quarter on the shitter at work! Perhaps l'll change my mind watching on the big screen and under less duress.
