Contract List

Out of left field, I reckon we should do an Aartsy on Hugh Beasley. Get him in.

So Moore, Butler, Menadue, Miller, Townsend, Aarts without contract at the moment

1 year deals for Moore, Menadue and Miller IMO. Townsend and Aarts to be delisted but should be signed permanently by our VFL team.

Who are on the rookie list? I'm confused. Should get rid of the rookie list and increase the list size. FWIW I would keep Aarts.

im a bit Confused too Harry because it sounds like there been a change to the list rules.
I’m not sure what it is.

we started the year with Chol Towner Baker Aarts Weller + stack on the rookie list.
and then we added Pickett.
Chol Baker and stacky got contracts which in the past meant they were upgraded too.

31st is list lodgement 1 so the club has two weeks to get it sorted.

Same. When i check the tiger website, the rookie listed players are

Weller
Townsend,
Eggy
Stack
Aarts
Chol
Baker
Pickett

Does anyone know what it really is? I would think of that list above Eggy, Stack, Chol, Baker, Pickett all deserve spots on our list proper. I am intrigued to how this will all fit into our roster, along with our picks

So 4 players gone, 6 still uncontracted. What is the minimum turnover requirement?

Edit: I believe we must use 3 draft picks each year, which I believe includes upgrading rookies with your junk picks.

Playing list can be either:

38 primary. 6 cat A rookies, 3 cat B rookies
39 primary. 5 cat A rookies, 3 cat B rookies
40 primary. 4 cat A rookies, 3 cat B rookies

I would assume that we will have to upgrade Stack, Baker and Pickett to the primary playing list. Back to 38 players. Leaving us only 2 picks available for the National draft, to hit the maximum of 40 primary list players, unless Miller, Moore or Menadue are delisted and re-drafted as rookies?

It used to be 3 but then the afl said that rookie upgrade are included in the 3.
Technically we could have upgraded stack and Chol, delisted Aarts miller and moore; drafted a kid at 19, rookie drafted miller and Moore.

that = a list change of 1.

Last year RFC didn’t sign any new contracts after trade period. We didn’t delist until 30 oct last year so I’d say we can go on hols for 2 weeks.

I have lost track of the rules but I am reasonably sure a player can only spend a certain number of years on the rookie list, I think it is 3. If that is the case the only player we have in that category is Chol but given how many rookies we have you would expect more than one to be upgraded. I have no idea why the rookie list is needed now because it seems there is no barrier to them playing anyway

Good work Ice there !

I believe it is a minimum of 3.
Stand to be corrected , unless the AFL have changed it.
