It's a strange hill to die on.

With everything going on in the world I feel that militant lesbianism is pretty small on my list of concerns right now.

Right. But there is NO BENEFIT to developing a vaccine and letting others die/get sick elsewhere. Your trade is screwed. People will still enter and reinfect your population. It also makes you look like complete dicks. Anyway, the Germans ain't dumb so this particular brain fart will die a quick death.

If there was clearer evidence of the man's idiocy I haven't seen it yet.

Even this company says it will be a few months before a vaccine candidate is available, so that won't save us any time soon. Given there are heaps of labs and companies working on the vaccine problem it seems a strange thing to pick one anyway, unless they are way ahead.

Well their CEO was fired very soon after the meeting with Trump. Maybe the CEO was the only one that entertained Trump's idea of exclusivity so that's why they chased CureVac

Yeh, I wasn't defending him, more pointing out it is consistent with his nationalist approach. He has shown he is clearly incapable of leading the US through this. Surely he can't survive the next election?

I mean why would a senator block a measure as simple as banning Internet connected voting systems and requiring campaigns to report interaction with foreign nationals. Bloody stinky.
