Just exhibit the sense God gave a goat and realise that the protests have gone bad and you could end up collateral damage. OK?

People know that and are still out there protesting peacefully. Demonstrators have always known the risk of demonstrating might be a truncheon to the face, or worse. Their risk, their choice. The alternative is fascism and knocks on the door at 2am.

Said it before, I'll say it again, Trump could help ease tensions if he was to talk and act like a statesman.

How about his act earlier. Not making speeches from the White House but trying to use religion but walking across to the Presidential church. Trump is not religious so what was the purpose of this and showing the bible. He sure does some weird things.

The cops tear-gassed peaceful protesters and clergy members so Trump could get his photo op.

It wasn't the presidential church, it was an episcopal church that he has nothing to do with. The people that run that church were upset he used their church as a prop without even asking them.

Disagree. He doesn't GAS about his base. He is President "Mike TV". It is "Wag the Dog" in real life. He is only President when the cameras are rolling because he thinks that's all that matters. Everything is a stunt. Nothing has any consequences. He doesn't really make any decisions, he just lets the GOP do as they please and keeps a look out for a photo op. If he thinks he can get a TV spot out of it he'll claim it and his base will cheer as though they are in on it.

There's no excuse for the looting & violence towards innocent civilians. Doesn't do any cause any good.

Agree.

Taking TV's from Walmart isnt a political act.

It could be argued that burning Walmart to the ground with everything in it is a political act.

This has the essence of truth to me.

Trump is totally reactive. He has no strategy and no long term plan. Maybe some of his advisers do - Steve Bannon did, for example. Every ything is a brain-fart. Everything is produced with an eye on the TV moment. That's why there is rarely follow through. Some flunkey has to clean up the mess and actually produce something later, if anyone cares.

Look at the "Space Force". They invented a new crest and uniform and just transferred 23 units from the Air Force into the new entity.

It's more absurd than Dr Strangelove.

I see people tying themselves in knots trying to attach a meaning or strategy to his actions. He is thick as two short planks. Easily the dumbest President since Regan. Even those with a strategy, as you say Bannon, end up leaving because he is so scatter-shot and thick and fickle that he is counter-productive to your ideas. Any ideas, probably.

I tend to agree with that, his focus is always on how his persona is shown.

The problem is the rhetoric that comes out of his mouth. Even the press conference today around sending in the National Guard, he could have commented on that as a normal person, but he had to stress how heavily armored they were. This continues on with veiled threats against their own citizens. Its very dangerous rhetoric.
