Game Day Tigers v Dockers

Stars all cruising. No need to bust a gut.Hence clearance result. Saving themselves for Cats.
Left it to the second tier...hence the struggle and turnovers.
Once needed the better players did what was needed.
We are ten goals better than Freo.
This was a practice run .
Dow disappointing sadly.

Cant allow a -19 clearance differential.
Better last quarter though.

To be clear, we were never going to lose this game.

You could tell straight away in the last quarter. Our pressure suddenly went through the roof.

No one can go with us.

I simply cannot see why Longmuir coached the way he did tonight. Yeah, he kept it close for 3 qtrs, but the Dockers never looked like winning it really. What did his younger players learn from that?

They go in with a tall forward line which suggest they want to try and stretch us and kick a winning score, then do nothing to try and get the ball going forward in a positive way, instead flooding. No wonder guys like McCarthy and Hogan appear to struggle mentally. The Dockers game plan tonight offered no confidence in their forward line.

Then they complain all lead up to the game about Fyfe not getting a fair go, but when he doesn't get a hard tag, they are more interested in just hanging off the defensive side of the ball.

Freo won most of the key stat categories. We only won the Inside 50s 43-38. If the Dockers had shown just a little more attacking intent, they could have made a real game of this.

The final indictment. The Dockers did not lead this game for one second. They were level with us for the first 4 minutes 51 seconds, until Graham's opening score.

As I've mentioned multiple times before on this board, get in before BetEasy merge with Sportsbet!
Sconies I tip my hat to ya...... about three weeks ago I followed your advice! Been loving myself sick with Kayo. None more so as the lads notch another win in the quest for back to back. All aboard...... toot toot!

I think what we saw tonight was us start at a frenetic pace and the Dockers know they didn't have the legs to go with us.

Like teams have all year, they start to fold back and then the lack of run and desire for safety defensively means they don't break when they win the ball.

Teams are doing that more and more because we are so difficult to stop on the charge from defensive turnover but the good thing is while it makes it hard for us to score, it makes it almost impossible for them to score as well.

I can't see a contender trying to play that way against us because there are no honourable draws in finals.
Spot on. Our best footy is against the better teams.

That's the way Freo play though, they've shored up their defence but have no quality forward line. That's why they're sitting on just 5 wins having beaten Adelaide, Sydney, Hawks, Saints (by 1 goal) and Collingwood (by 2 goals) when they were maxxed out injury wise. Commentators after the game were banging on about how they had 9 players who had played less than 55 games. Well Tigers had 10 who have played less than 50. The two teams are chalk and cheese. Without Fyfe (30yo) and Mundy (35yo) they're nothing atm.

Gee Serong looks a likely type. Hadn't seen much of him until tonight, but though he showed plenty.

Will be a gun. If they can keep him, Brayshaw and Cerra together they have a midfield group there for the next 10 years.

Correct, theres a reason they are ranked with the 6th lowest points against (and have played one more game than 3 above them), but can't win games. I think they are on the right path but need to figure out their forward ball movement and tall forwards. I was surprised to see Taberner will be 28 at the start of next year. They will aim to bring that young tall WA forward in in the draft (can't think of his name right now). Their list rebuild is going the right way but they were always going to try and strangle us, its just what they do.

The commentary was annoying tonight. Underwood and the other caller were milking the upset angle incessantly. Have these people never seen Richmond play?

Really intrigued now to see how the next 2 weeks play out.
Grimes/Prestia/Edwards/Astbury/Caddy/Chol.
If it was me, reckon only Grimes & Edwards are guarantees.
Lambert?
