The poetic moment is Danger laying forlorn over the boundary line as Dusty shrugs his tackle to snag his fourth from the pocket. Beautiful.

Well it’s settled. Collingwood undoubtedly has a better list.
I'd love to see that smug pricks face right now .................. have very little respect for his type, and it has nothing to do with him going to Collingwood, that's his prerogative but its the way he speaks and talks in riddles that gets my goat up. Be interesting to see if he indeed gets out of Collingwood now after stating he has NO intention of leaving, will he show his true colours ? Wouldn't put it past him at all ........

Surely that’s the end of Geelongs version of a dynasty, ie ZERO flags in 9 seasons, a 6/13 win loss record in finals.

Finally read through to the end of this GD thread.

I am still almost speechless. One of my greatest nights ever.

What a team. What a club. What a special player is Dusty. But love them all - full playing squad, all coaches, admin - for achieving this premiership.

A simply fantastic effort. Finally come down from the clouds enough to go to sleep. A very peaceful one.

Just delighted. Well done everyone on PRE too for their support. We did it.

She'll be an allnighter at my place down in Gee'Town tonight let me tell ya ........... streets here pretty deserted strangely enough and we arent even under any curfews. ;)

I drove through Geelong on Grand Final day, one of those years back when Gary Snr was playing and they lost a few Grand Finals. It was a total ghost town, no-one was out. Must have been sometime around 3/4 time and they were not going to win. Went shopping at Myer and it was bliss, so empty.

It is going to be a quiet week or 20 down there.

Just found this from the AFL website:

At an average age of 28 years and 117 days, Geelong entered as the oldest Grand Final side in history and fifth-oldest line-up to take the field in any AFL/VFL match. But just like their effort in the qualifying final loss to Port Adelaide (a game in which the Cats fielded the oldest side in AFL/VFL history), they once again fell down in the third quarter. And the Cats will only get older next season with incoming free agent Jeremy Cameron to turn 28 in April and trade target Shaun Higgins to start next year at 33.
