Grand Final 2020 Thread Richmond Vs Geelong / Game Day Thread

Equal with Royce. Forever.
That works for me and Royce was my first childhood hero and still is to this day, you should only ever have the one as a youngster I believe. Now many years past the "youngster" era, I still recall watching him live many many times as a pre-teenager and into my teen years, indelibly stamped in my conscienceness forever, but Cotch is very special and a leader of these guys who absolutely adore the bloke and so they should, he carried this club for many many tough years to the point I thought his career would be quite short, but he has proven me wrong and continued to lead by example, for that he will always be held in the highest regard.

What a win, what a champion team!

I'm still on cloud 9. I wanted this premiership more than words can describe. In the 2nd qtr I felt for a fleeting moment it could escape us but we never gave in, just kept fighting and fighting until we broke them, A massive 53 point turn around.

A special mention to Dusty he is absolute Tiger royalty, those 4 goals had a degree of difficulty that only dusty could thread through.

It's not luck you idiot. Scott alluded to this in his presser. Richmond do the chaos ball because they have more fast runners which means they get to the fall of the loose ball more often. Scott also said (and he was right) if that game plan was all that mattered then everybody would be doing it. You have to have the players, too.

Nice to see after getting disproportionately low Brownlow votes we picked up votes in the Granny

And thank you Balmy!!!
HERE HERE .....................................said it after the last 2 Premierships also, but the presence of Neil Balme back at Richmond has been a little under-appreciated I do believe and he's probably fine with that, but having been a huge fan of him as a Richmond player back in the day and seeing what he has achieved as a "behind the scenes specialist" at every Club he's been involved with, this Man needs to be acknowledged and thanked for whatever it is he brings to these players, coaches and everyone in the Football dept.

Thank You Neil Balme, very much appreciated for all you do at the Mighty Richmond Football Club.

I just watched the replay.

In hindsight, that 22 point lead they had was flattering. What a result. What a team.

Back 2 Back

I can’t thank my father enough for being a Richmond listed player for three years, without ever cracking it for a senior game, but passing the Richmond torch to me. So many years without success, but not pain, because I would never want to barrack for anyone else. You just endure, and at a time, when planets align, you get to watch one of the most amazing team of this competition make dreams come true for my father, his son and his grandsons. A perfect day, enjoy Tiger brothers and sisters, one and all.

Can’t wait to hear how Geeelong celebrated their grand final win!
Reckon I might whip down to the Lord of the Isles Monday (probably the next Monday maybe ?) with the hat & scarf on just to see how that goes down, wonder if they'll be all dressed up and win the Mad Monday celebrations for the 27th year running ? Do you get a Flag for that by the way ?

22 points down. 53 point turnaround. Premiership.
And it was against a quality opponent. This wasn't GWS or a Collingwood who didn't deserve to be in the Grand Final in the first place.
This was being touted as a real 50-50 game.

Is this the greatest performance you've ever seen from a Richmond team?
I think it might be.
I suppose the 1973 Preliminary Final would have to go close.

Just want to say to the person who said putting balta in the ruck was a stupid idea.
He was amazing and helped turn the game.
Agree, but my word, I have to make spcial mention AGAIN of one of our unsung hero's in Finals especially ..................BIG NANK !

Another great great game big Fella, I love the way you go about it and are willing to take on the huge task of Rucking for 99% of the game.

Fantastic Finals player and that wont be forgotten anytime soon ........

You reckon we could get a 2nd round pick for him next year.
Only jokin - man‘s a legend.....
There isnt enough picks in a draft over 10 years to cover the greatness of this bloke, I've been very lucky to have seen many hours of Footy in my life and this bloke is "as good" as anyone who's ever played the game in my lifetime, G Ablett, Royce, Lockett etc etc, he lives amongst them now, NO doubt whatsoever.
