Is this description in the AFL website for real?

Nick Vlastuin – 1
An absolute nightmare two days for Vlastuin, with one of his properties the subject of an arson attack, and then knocked out cold in the opening three minutes of the match. Collided with the arm of Patrick Dangerfield – who had completed a spoil milliseconds prior – and was stretchered off.
But Baker "threw an errant arm at Selwood". AFL PR on the job early.

Two actions. After the ball was gone he raised the elbow.

In his defence it all happened pretty quick and I wouldn't normally consider him a dirty player, but if the AFL are fair dinkum he has to get suspended. Anyway, that circus will play out separately.

My concern is for Nick's well being. He's had a few head knocks. I hope he has no lasting effects.
Agree, it is pretty hard in those circumstances, and i wouldnt call Clanger a dirty player for it, but it was clearly 2 actions, his arm dropped after he hit the ball then went back up again. 20 years ago it was probably ok, but he should get weeks, considering other in play incidents that cause suspension.

You cant use the excuse of bracing for impact when you knock a guy out cold. He knew what he was doing.

Flossy should have lined up Flopperfield with slammed into him with a hip and shoulder. He had the perfect opportunity and could easily have made it looked like he was protecting himself.

Nick has had more than one concussion this season, 2 or 3 I think. This looked to be the most severe.
I hope the club gets the best advice and ensures that he is properly protected.
As I understand it the the impact of successive concussions is cumulative. Ben Griffiths was a case in point and when he was finally knocked out with a blow of minimal force, he could not be allowed to go on.

It's a real concern, had at least one last season too.

Head always sacrosanct: McLachlan

Fyfe incident won't change MRP's take on head-high bumps, says CEO
By Ben Guthrie on Aug 8, 2014, 10:24am
THE AFL is not about to change its tough stance on bumping to the head - even if the contact is accidental - according to AFL chief Gillon McLachlan.

The round two incident involving Fremantle's Nat Fyfe, which saw the Dockers star rubbed out for two matches, has been shrouded in controversy since the Match Review Panel's verdict was handed down.

If Fyfe had not been suspended he would be a clear Brownlow Medal favourite, but now he's ineligible for the award.

Fyfe went to bump Gold Coast's Michael Rischitelli as he released the ball from a contest, but in doing so accidentally clashed heads with the Suns midfielder.

The general view of some commentators since is that the Match Review Panel has not been as severe on similar incidents following the Fyfe bump. The topic was raised at an important meeting of club CEOs on Thursday.

McLachlan maintained the League's view that the head was "sacrosanct".

He doesnt care. He wants a flag at all costs.
Rohan's knee to Broad wasnt quite an accident either.

Plus Danger will get off. Bet my house on it.
The decision is in and guess what the flog got off.

I guarantee you if that was Lynch knocking someone out he would have been referred straight to the tribunal.

Hocking & Christian are deadset oxygen thieves. *smile* hopeless the pair of them.

Memo to Christian, suggest you get a dictionary and read up on the meaning of consistency.

Was that when Bakes eyes gouged Stinkwoods fingers.

I think that was when Bruce McAvaney in his commentary said, in gushing tones, something like, Selwood fighting it out to the end, what a champion o_Onow if that was Lynch what would the narrative have been?

Typical double standards, I would add if Toby Greene did it they would have been all over him too.

They play favourites.

Has had a few concussions now. Really hope it doesn't become an issue for him.
Was up and about after the game which can't be a bad sign.
