The 50 was there. Ump was sweating on it and Marlion did go over the mark.

The Cats got more frees so no surprise there but overall I thought the umpires let the game flow much better than previous weeks. It seems a though the more contentious and picky interpretations go on the back burner for the GF

By the way, guys, not many noticed but we did get a 50 metre penalty. A Geelong defender said a couple of naughty words after Lynch’s mark in the goal square. The ump had no hesitation in advancing the mark three metres to the goal line.

Remember Campbell was named Umpires Boss a couple of years ago and if anything it got worse.
IMO it seems they are so worried about their bosses at AFL thinking they might favour Richmond they go overboard against us.
Grant Williams who played 4 games for Melbourne. Flew well under the radar compared to the likes of the Giesch.

They are doing a job.
Mostly they do it really well.
They make mistakes, same as the players do. Probably less than the players do.

We beat Essendon in pretty much every stat except the frees.
How times have changed. Quite often now we get beaten in just about every stat and win the game. I used to go crazy years ago about how we dominated possession and lost games and so many teams must feel like that playing us now
