Isn't that what WHO is for? No need for any country to call for an enquiry, WHOs mandate would make it a no brainer.

Australia were the first country in the world to ban Huawei. Banning them from any involvement in our 5G Network was the correct decision. But for the sake of trade relations, I would've thought that it would be prudent for us to keep our heads down for awhile.
I'd bet my left one that if Morrison had his time again, he would 'quietly' lobby other countries for the WHO doing a thorough investigation into Covid.
For mine it was a mistake from the Morrison government being the first (again, get the theme) in calling out China to be investigated. It is going to cost Australia hundreds of billions of dollars in trade revenue, and thousands of jobs.

It will be painful for us but in the end it will be good thing.
China's exports will become either more expensive due to them having to pay more for the products that have displaced Australia's or their quality will suffer.
More opportunity for India, Mexico etc to take business off China.

The Chinese fishing fleet is a unit of their Navy. 100% guaranteed that this will result in them trying to engineer a clash between their "tiny little fishing boats" and our Navy and then the Chinese will ratchet matters up. We give PNG over $600M/a in aid and I believe this year there has been considerably more given and yet they do this without even consulting with us?
So much for a our good relations.
PNG is doing this to get China to take over some of their debt.
Since gaining independence New Guinea have relied on aid from Australia, unfortunately aid got slashed by the Abbott government, surprise surprise, the door has been left open for China.
It's a difficult one, because how Australian aid has been spent has been be open to question.
The cut in aid to PNG was less than a 5% cut and aid has since been increased to in excess of $100M/year over what was previously given.
China doesn't give them anywhere near that but they've promised to buy some of PNG's debt in exchange for various favours.
