Just heard Westwood has made his last 48 putts (last 2 events) inside 5 feet!

Sergio has missed 5 putts inside 5 feet this week!
I think it was Dave Pelz who studied all the stats on the PGA tour years ago, it was surprising how many putts were missed under 6 foot , sorry can’t remember the exact numbers

Not a bad 3rd round from Cameron Smith, 7 under which includes a double bogey. I reckon he's found a few yards off the tee.

Three putt on 17 costs Westwood the chance for a playoff. For a bloke with balls of steel in matchplay, he just can't get it done in the big moments of individual tournaments.

Nah I know. he’s been playing well for a while now but he just lacks that killer punch/s in the final round. Finds a lot of fairways but his chipping is downright terrible still and he has the odd error with the putter in final rounds too. He chipped in the 3rd round with what could only be described as a yip.

Yeah understand that, but I'm wondering now if he is back at a level where that extra margin is the difference between top 5s and wins.

When you look at how a DeChambeau or Dustin Johnson interact with their caddies they must have a fair edge over him in that area.

I guess only he would know the reality but I would have thought she could still be much the same influence on him from outside the ropes.

Dunno. He says she keeps him in balance, relaxed, not over thinking it. That every shot isnt the most important thing in the world. He’s had caddies like DJ and BDC have, and from his mid 30’s onwards with them, the game consumed him for the worse. So he says.

A caddy like Greller, Bones, Tucker etc might not be for him now. He seems in a good space with Helen.

What a great round by Matt Jones yesterday, always look like he’s getting a quick 9 in before it gets dark.
PGA followers is this a weak field at the Honda , seems like a few of the big names are not there, has that become the norm for th3 Honda ?

toughest round in golf , the round after you’ve had one of your best rounds

One of the fastest players on Tour having to play with one of the slowest made it all the more impressive.

Reminded me of my Stableford win in the Spring of 1998 over Stu "Bonster" Bonnitcha and Brett "BJ" Johns when I closed out for a 42 to take the title in difficult conditions. Noisy crowds, winds, cameras etc. I'd won the Friday Chicken Run the night before so I was in form and made the most of it.

Yeh, Jones plays ready golf and its great to see. JB is a self-indulgent slow play *smile*, so glad he choked it up.

Played at Victoria GC today. Absolutely off the charts, sensational condition. Mint everywhere. The green staff are right on point over there at the moment.
