Great to see Mickelson have a 10 on the 18th hole at the Texas Open. When he loses his head, he's like a 32 handicapper.

Just read an old fella died a few days after being hit in the head by a golf ball at Portarlington , I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often especially on over crowded public courses. New an old fella who had been hit in the head 3 times over his years of playing , one time he lost a lot of teeth

Still dont know why a) you stand so close to people and b) don’t wear falsies.

I haven’t played since the new flag rule came in, are most people leaving the flag in or out ?
In Vic with covid it stays in. No rakes in bunkers, preferred lies. (Where I’ve played a couple of times anyway - the National)

if I had a choice I’d be removing flag just through habit.

Same. Although a bunch of studies suggest leaving the pin in is to your advantage. Dave Pelz did a study of it years ago and the numbers say pin in helps. Looks weird to me though.

Personally I'm all about leaving the pin in. Beats going through the over-respectful process "would you like the flag in or out?" and "would you like me to tend it for you" blah blah. Its been a good change.

Just on the bloke getting struck on the head, when i was playing at my local club as a youth i recall an old bloke who always wore a bike helmet on the course. Apparently he had been hit on the head before and was told he was lucky to be alive, so from that point onwards he played with a helmet.

However he also wore a legionaries cap underneath the helmet, so I thought he looked pretty daggy at the time, but it kept him out there playing so good for him!

Lydia Ko has got some sort of round going in the final round over in the states. She shot 7 under on the front nine, has just birdied 10 to be 14 under, and has an eagle put on 11, she's 3 behind the leader Tavatanakit.
She missed the eagle put, got the birdie and is now 9 under through 11 on her round, and now 2 behind.

Strange chick. Goes through caddies like having breakfast. Think she’s on about her 12th caddie since going pro.

Quick greens at our place right now. Hard and quick. Must be about 13 to 14 on the stimp. Playing beyond the hole to let it roll back sort of stuff.
