Who is calling Ross slow?

Have you watched him play?

He's quick, strong, composed and showed a bit today.

If you want slow have a look at Aarts.

His kicking is poor., misses too many hit up targets. That kick that missed the reiwoldt lead in the 3rd was a shocker. Just a plodder and makes way for Prestia. Would not appear to be able to play forward or back.

For his first kick he thought about an option up the ground while our players were streaming forward, but he turned sideways and chipped it 10 metres to the side.

Ruckmen do that.

Hope he gets another game next week to learn from it.

His kicking is good. Prestia early for us was a much worse kick.

I'll wager that after a couple of games at the level he hits that target ever time.

Plodder? Let's see in a couple of weeks.

Can't find the thread but midfield depth a worry
I think our forward line is our biggest issue.
The defenders are running out of our back 50 way to easy and our 50 looks always overcrowded.

Cant see it. Too slow and takes an eternity to impact contest and dispose the ball
agree. not a fast thinker with the ball in hand. seems to have slo reflexes. The only benefit of the doubt i can give him is that he's sat on the bench for 2 weeks, then went back and turned into a VFL Player again. I cant see him being any better than a C grade, but at the very least, they should play him for a month straight to see if he can improve.

It’s why Dan Rioli should always be in our side. Yep, he’s not setting the world on fire at present, but he’s quick and actually tackles. Something Aarts has not been giving us. Big mistake not having that speed and forward pressure in the side that played last night IMO.

Big month for the lad. Going to learn a lot.

Only attended six centre bounces. Are we playing him in inside or outside? Was he in the KMac wing role?

Forty pressure acts is good but 10 touches is not.

At the moment he is in best 22 of uninjured players but needs to display his wares in next three weeks.
That's about how I see it. I keep reading words like young gun and young bull but he's played one decent game in his brief career. With young players you look for moments in games and he is very vanilla.

Not sure if some are watching the same game but Ross was clean with the footy
Agree.

He wasn't prolific last night, but he was very creative with his hands, not so much in the quick hands sense, but in a decision making and delivery sense. His targets were in space and didn't have to break stride which was giving them a metre or two of extra time relative to some of the handballs from others in our side last night.

You also have to bear in mind his footy has been a bit broken up this year being the sub in the first 2 games.

Deserves a stack of brownie points for accidentally nudging Duursma into the fence.

Kid needs to be given a proper run of games to pick up the tempo n find that playing zone. Bloody sub, half a game n then dropped n re subbed n then dropped for game time at VFL then back into the side, would *smile* with anyone's mind set.
Pick the youngster but then make sure they actually get the game opportunity to find their feet n grow. Don't just *smile* them around in circles by making them the maybe, nearly, almost break glass in case of emergency player n then expect them to perform really well.
