Been saying it for two years.... Where are our youngins to replace the stars? The cupboard is bare.

This is the biggest concern i believe. Our success has glossed over our genuine lack of any good young players coming through in all positions. We have also wasted too much time on players that were never going to make it ala Chol and Egg. Apart from MRJ i really do not see anything that has me excited

Hate to admit it but these guys could be the real deal. I didn't rate any of their previous wins but they really showed something across all lines tonight. Depth too, they pantsed our VFL. We'll need to study them closely in case we meet them again come September. Composure up forward and creating separation has to be part of it. I'd have played Balta for periods up forward to see if an extra tall could've made their defenders more accountable. Rioli, Castag and Aarts were innefective for most of the night.

No it isn't. It is very hard to break into a champion side. But I hear you and quite frankly we feel a little stale atm. Especially up front. Ins and outs thread will be interesting.

Might be too far back to make a real effort at it the way we are going.

We’ve been exposed in lots of ways so far in 2021, but we can regroup. We simply have to address midfield including playing a genuine second ruck. Midfield needs speed. Can’t play Ross, Cotchin & Graham in same team. Not convinced re Collier-Dawkins but May as well have a look. Small & mid size forwards need to lift big time with pressure. May as well play Caddy instead of Aarts. I’d swap Lynch with Coleman-Jones.

With Dusty out next week Ross should be in the 22, need to get a few successive games into him.
CCJ would have been a good option in the forward line tonight, the Dees tall defenders marking it all night did my head in.

Agree about the Dees but i think we cant turn it around unless coaches start making some tough calls on selection. If they stay loyal and stubborn it may end up being a bridge too far

we rarely get a free kick inside 50. Ds got 3 soft ones. we missed 3 set shots that were pretty straightforward.
i don't think there was much in that game .. despite the way it looked

Could do a lot worse than playing Pickett in the midfield.

I know it sounds like spoilt brat syndrome but I am honestly pretty concerned about depth. The core stays the same so very little time for development.

Yes, have wondered what's going on with him. Has gone off this year. Because he's won a flag so early? Driven to distraction by poor umpiring? Can't work it out.
Dropping his marks; giving away dumb frees at times. Not making the good decisions he used to. But losing doesn't seem to hurt much, a lot of grinning post-game.
