Changes v GWS

I think Mansell needs to be cut some slack.

his errors came after Selwood absolutely crunched him (I think it was fair, but if it wasn't Selwood, the MRP-lotto could easily give him 1).

People who think you can take one of the toughest blokes in 100 years hip full pelt, flush on the top of the head

and play on as if nothing happened,

have most likely never played footy.

it hurts like *smile* and rattles you when normal people get you,

but this was Selwood.

and anyone who thinks it isn't a tie between Selwood and Cotchin in the tough attack on the footy stakes,

hasn't been watching the footy for 10 years.

I’ve often said that Sellwood is a fantastic player, one of the best over a long period of time. It’s just a shame he will be remembered for his deliberate ducking because it is a blight on his game

Grimes for Mansell
HRS for George
CCJ for Edwards

Picket back to wing
Ross given a proper go in midfield
Baker perhaps to play midfield forward again
A proper mid sized leading forward in HRS
IMO a better structure

Head down over the pill n the other bloke comes in with a hip, play on play on. Why would there be a rule in this game to protect the sacred site?

Mansell made a couple of blues, but to say he wasn't on his pat Malone is a gross understatement. Flew the flag superbly IMO, especially in his what, 5th game. Entrenched IMO.

I’d like to see Ross pushed inside a bit more. Between him and RCD a bit of a change that sees them in closer at more clearance situations. Bit more of a bump and grind role.

They’re both too slow to be out as wide as much as they are at the moment. Get them a bit closer to the contest where we can use their size a bit more.

The dynamic he has built up with the umps over his career is a blight on the game. Its the opposite of Dusty dymanic, they pay him frees at the drop of a hat and very reluctant to pay one against him. Its comical at times, he just tells the ump to pay him a free and they pay it.

I thought you couldn't get more similar to Cotchin on Sheil if you had a time machine.

No doubt they protect the head in an astonishingly inconsistent way.

but for me,

Selwood was 100% after the footy.

could have been a free perhaps?

I'd like to see him pushed more towards the Diamond Valley

there is no legal way to speed up a footballers brain.

3 clubs tried with Anthony Miles. Its never been done.

I understand intimately that 35 blokes win a flag,

but give me quick thinking, unfit depth over the warrior snail thinker

indecision is the biggest killer of footy momentum known.

get stackman in next week. MRJ too.

if we are gonna drop a few with kids, make it kids with a future who'll give us a thrill.

Ross could play 100 games with North Melbourne or Collingwood without getting you out of your seat once

and if we want to look at it in terms or roles in the system?

his role last night was defensive wing, and the cats set a new world record for easy goals.

im being uncharacteristically reactionary and harsh on a kid here, I know.

but plodding, slow-thinking Richmond footballers in the 1990's mould trigger stuff in me.

The slow thinking and the missing targets under no pressure, those combined with his lack of tricks, X factor, point of difference whatever you want to call it, not looking good. If you are a vanilla solid citizen, being solid and reliable is a non-negotiable.

this.

his manager should be working on an endorsement for the 2nds from a Tahitian Vanilla Beanery.

OUT: Sheds, George, ross (no), naish (no)

In: CCJ, Stack, MRJ, Grimes

Cheatwood hit Mansell in the head ezy. Is it reportable? Maybe not. Is it a free kick? Most definitely in any interpretation of the rules. Apart from the exemption that applies when you are Joel Selwood infringing on a Richmond player.

Those calling for Stackman are going to be disappointed. Balme made it pretty clear on the TT podcast he isn't ready.

I get it we need him, but he isn't going to play for a month or so.

Stack for Edwards. Balmey to reassess.
CCJ for Castagna
Grimes for Mansell or Broad

Ashbury. Grimes Balta
Baker. Flossy. Houli
Short. Pickett. Kmac
Rioli. CCJ. Riewoldt
Lynch. Bolton. Stack
Nank. Martin. Graham
RCD Ross Aarts Broad/Mansell
